Cleaning clutter and getting rid of things
We are having crazy weather here in Spokane. It is the middle of January and I have the doors open airing the house out. It is not really warm but 49 degrees in January with the sun out is something to celebrate. Yesterday my husband and I decided to tackle our bedroom closet. I don’t know about anyone else but our closet had become a mess and there were clothes in there that had not been worn in a really long time. We pulled every single item out of the closet and tried them on. Both of us had the power to say that something didn’t fit the other or was to faded. It felt amazing to not hold onto something just because. Once we had finished going through everything we put had 6 garbage bags to go to Goodwill. This morning when I looked in the closet I was so happy and calm when I saw how clean and organized everything is. We also started on dresser drawers and the bed side tables.
I am really excited to head to the library and pick up a book I requested. It is a book by Peter Walsh who is often seen on Oprah and TLC. He talks about how clutter and disorganization can affect your life and body weight. As we continue to focus on our 2010 resolutions of getting healthier and living our best life I think this book is going to help solidify some of the things we are trying to do.
