Information on Nelia Adiato -
Nelia Aidato lives and works in Todi, Italy, (Umbria) by way of the Greek island of Corfu.
Nelia began her artistic career at age 10, playing the violin for a crowd at the international art fair in Venice. A famous
Italian actress pulled Nelia aside and suggested she work hard to attend, “Julliard,” in New York. Nelia’s love for jewelry
over-shadowed music, though she still plays her violin every day.
She began working with blown glass, acrylics, and painted in watercolor or pastels. Her life has been devoted to
all things artisan. She’s traveled the world, living in Croatia, Iceland and Malmo, Sweden. Her greatest art inspiration?
One year living on a farm in Kona, Hawaii. “I’m a Scorpio” and love being near the water.”
Today, Nelia works from a small office behind a stained glass maker in Todi. She arrives to her petite space daily, with her Jack Russell,
“Bambina.” “We work until it’s dark, never knowing what time it is as I don’t wear a watch. When “Bambina” gets hungry,
I know it’s time to go home.”
Nelia’s silver, gold, semi precious stones and hand blown jewelry are sold throughout Europe.
She didn’t attend Julliard, however, that Italian actress from her youth drops in at Nelia’s studio whenever she is in Umbria.
