St. Patrick’s Day Cake
Last night I decided to try and make a St. Patrick’s Day cake. I thought it would be fun to put together different color green layers for the cake. This was the first time I have attempted to make a colorful cake. It turned out pretty good for my first try. There are a few things I will do differently the next time I make one.
Here are a few of the things I learned
-Layered cakes take a lot more icing than I anticipated
-I would make boxes of cake mixes so the layers were not so thin
-I would use parchment paper to help move the layers around. They stuck to the plate I put them on.
Here is what I used to make this cake
-White Cake Mix
-Plain and neon colored food coloring
I used plain and neon food coloring. I was hoping to be able to get a bigger difference in the green colors but they came out pretty close to each other. Next time I will play with a few other colors to see how they turn out.
