Brave and The Avengers at the Drive in!
Last night John and I went and saw Brave and The Avengers at the drive in movie theater in Colville. It has been on my Bucket List for Spokane/ E. WA to go to the drive in for years. I had not been to the drive in since 1982 when ET was out. I still remember sitting in the top of my parents VW Vanagan watching ET out the window while playing Barbies. Lets be honest I was 6 then so I mainly played Barbies. One of John’s really good friends was in Colville visiting his parents so he joined us for the movies. We had so much fun. We picked up a huge tub of popcorn for only $5.00 and sat back to enjoy the movies.
The first preview was for Finding Nemo in 3D! Woohoo only a couple of week to go before this great movie is released. It was kind of funny prior to the movie starting the theater area was pretty loud with cars moving around and people talking. The moment the first notes of music started for Brave everything went quiet. I really enjoyed Brave. I laughed, teared up, giggled as I followed along Merida’s journey. John and Scott both enjoyed the film. Both of them laughed and had a great time watching it. At one point Scott was humming one of the songs. I am not sure how he knew the song but he loved it. Brave will be released on Blu-ray November 13th!
There was a short break and then The Avengers started. Wow does this movie start with a bang. We were instantly hooked and not looking away from the screen. I have to admit that I may have forgotten to blink during the movie. I was so into it that at the end I realized my eyes were dry and tired from not blinking. This was a fun fast action film. I had no idea we had been sitting there for almost 2.5 hours. It went so quickly and I now can’t wait for the next movie to come out.
Disney has already announced that the new Avengers movie will be released on May 1, 2015!! Plus the New Iron Man movie is in production and will be released on May 3rd, 2013!!!

We love our drive in in Auburn!! I remember going to the one in Mountain home!! The kid show then the adult show! We all “slept” in the back of the van during the grown up movies!! Was always fun playing before the show with friends. Great family “date” night activity!!
A new Iron Man!! What? My husband will love to hear that!
LOVE the drive in. Went often as a kid and teen. There is one about 1/2 hr away from us and we still try to go once or twice a year. I am glad you, John and your friend enjoyed the movie…and I remember seeing ET there many moons ago, too! ha ha
