Our Evening at the Spokane County Fair
Last night John and I went to the Spokane County Fair. We love visiting the fair and checking out the exhibits. Last night was Patriots night at the fair. Law enforcement personnel received free entry into the park. We had been planning on attending the fair so this was perfect for us. A free date night out in Spokane was wonderful.

There was a booth selling Deep Fried Butter, Deep Fried Brownies, and more. I can not really imagine what deep fried butter tastes like. Has anyone tried this? I was curious but not curious enough to pay $5.00 to try it out.

We were lucky enough to walk up right when the Alaska Racing Pigs were about to race. This is so cheesy but so funny at the same time. I fully admit to giggling and cheering for the little pigs as they ran around the track. It was so cute seeing the kids jumping up and down cheering for the pigs.

We walked through the carnival area and looked at the games but did not play any. I enjoy taking pictures of the stuffed animals and bright lights. Growing up my parents never let us play the games and explained that the games were not set up for us to win. This lesson continues to stick with me as an adult and I just can’t bring myself to part with the money to play the games. I think it is interesting to watch them but can not bring myself to spend $5 to throw a couple of darts.

We finished our night out at the fair with our annual treat. Once a year we indulge in an elephant ear from the same stand. Every time I have visited the fair I have picked up an elephant ear from this stand and I have never been disappointed.

Can you tell from this picture that John was ready to indulge in the elephant ear. He gave me the look that he was over photos and ready to enjoy the elephant ear.  We found a great set of picnic tables right near the grandstand. We were able to hear the country concert and enjoy our elephant ear. It was the perfect ending to a fun date night out.

  1. I totally understand the prices have gone crazy at Fairs but that looked so fun. I can’t wait to visit Spokane in the future. P.S. I love elephant ears and that was HUGE haha :)
