Are you visiting Seattle and looking for a fun free Seattle attraction. Right near the Pike’s Place Market is the iconic Seattle Gum Wall.
I have to admit that I had seen the Gum Wall featured on the Travel Channel and read about it in books but had never visited it until recently. I am not sure how we missed it on our many visits to the Pikes Place Market. The Seattle Gum Wall is located in Post Alley right under the Pikes Place Market. There are signs showing you which way to go in the market.
Once you find the alley there is really no missing the gum. It is everywhere from the street and the up the side of the buildings. I can honestly say that it is a bit disgusting yet fascinating to be standing in an alley surrounded by gum. I did end up with a bit on my shoes so make sure you bring a napkin or something in case you get some on your shoes.
The Seattle Gum Wall has been named one of the germiest attractions in the world. While we were there many tourists placed gum on the wall. Some people have taken to forming words and art with their gum. We did not have any gum with us so we took pictures and tried not to touch anything.
