Couch to 5k….I am off the couch and moving!

Wow, I can’t believe it has already been 2 weeks since I started the Couch to 5K program.  Last week I shared with your our shopping trip to Sam’s Club and starting the program.  The past 2 weeks went by so much quicker than I thought they would. I was filled with  trepidation when I started this program. I am not a runner and never really have been one. I watch runners and think wow I would love to be able to do that. 2 weeks into this program and I feel like I am on my way to being at least a jogger. I am not up to a run yet but my butt is off the couch and that is what really matters.

I have to share with you some of the amazing Lean Cuisine meals we have been enjoying for the past 2 weeks. When I think of frozen meals there are times I get a bit nervous. I worry that I am going to open the package and there is going to be 2 bites of food and maybe a chunk of chicken. I was so excited when we opened the Lean Cuisine packages. John commented on the big chunks of chicken and how pretty the food is. The meals are filled with tons of bright cheery vegetables.

How great does this Chicken look! It is so bright and colorful.

The Chicken Teriyaki Stir Fry was our favorite meal. It paired up so nicely with fresh fruit on the side. Out of all of the meals these ones were gone first.

The hardest step for me of any workout is getting my shoes on.  It is so easy to find every excuse you can think of as to why I do not have time to put my shoes on. Once my shoes are on I seem to run out of excuses. I make myself get out the door and take on the workout. I have been putting my shoes right next to the couch so there is no way I can ignore them.

John took this picture as we were heading out on our workout. Notice I am not covered in sweat quite yet and still really cheerful. It has been a bit chilly in Spokane in the morning so I have been layering on the clothes when we head out the door. We are blessed to have amazing walking trails near us. The trails are paved and have been fantastic for taking this challenge. It has been so nice to be outside enjoying the Fall colors. I have missed watching the leaves change. After doing this workout for 2 weeks I feel a lot stronger and I am excited to see what week 3 holds. I am going to push myself to see if I can complete all 9 weeks of this challenge. I just hope the snow does not start anytime soon. I don’t know how running in the snow would be.

[...] Tammilee, my blogging partner in this challenge, enjoyed this challenge as well. I love the tip she gave for making sure workouts stay on her mind by putting her shoes right next to the couch so she sees them everyday. That’s a tip I’m going to steal! {You can read about her journey in today’s update post.} [...]
