I love making quick and easy dinners whenever I have the chance. We run around like crazy some nights as soon as John gets off work. I really try to cook as many dinners as I can at home so we are not spending money eating out. I have my standard dishes for dinner but love trying new things especially when they are fast and taste good. We were recently introduced to Campbell’s Skillet Sauces. The skillet sauces come in a variety of flavors and are designed for dinner for two. These are perfect for us! We are not big leftovers fans. They tend to sit in the fridge until I make a point of serving them for a meal.
John and I headed to our local Albertson’s to pick up a package of Campbell’s Skillet Sauces and a few other groceries this weekend. We found a fantastic $2.00 off meat when you buy Campbell’s Skillet Sauces coupon right next to the display. You can also print this coupon from the Campbell’s Sauces Facebook page during the month of January! We found Campbell’s Skillet Sauces in the following varieties: Creamy Chipotle, Fire Roasted Tomato, Toasted Sesame, Marsala, Scampi and Thai Green Curry. The sauces are packaged in a sauce pouch that are super easy to store.
We found the sauces in the soup aisle of Albertson’s. They were really easy to find in the store. We had a hard time deciding on what flavor we wanted to try first. We ended up picking up two flavors – Fire Roasted Tomato and Creamy Chipotle. I found some great pre-cut steak strips in the meat department. I had never seen steak strips already designated for pan cooking versus crock pot cooking. The stickers made it so easy to decide which type of steak to pick up.
I love that this meal can be made in one pot. I am not a fan of doing the dishes so the less pots and pans I have to use the better. I did make rice in the rice cooker to add to this meal. I started the rice about 45 minutes before John was due to get home from work. I figure the Campbell’s Skillet Sauces would take between 20-30 minutes to prepare so as soon as John walked in the house I started up dinner. Oh my goodness this was so fast and easy to make. It only took me 15 minutes to have it ready to go. The meal is prepared in 3 easy steps.
Here is what I used for this meal
-Campbell’s Skillet Sauces Fire Roasted Tomato
-Vegetable oil for the pan
The first step is to add oil to your pan and let it get warm. I then added in the strip steak and browned it on both sides. Once the steak was browned nicely I simply opened the package of Campbell’s Skillet Sauces and poured it over the top. The sauce quickly heated up to a boil so I lowered it down to simmer nicely until the steak was cooked all the way through. John kept walking through the kitchen commenting on how great the house smelled. He was so ready for dinner and to try out the Fire Roasted Tomato Sauce.
I served the Campbell’s Fire Roasted Tomato Skillet Sauce and Steak over a bed of brown rice. As you can see from the picture the meal was steaming hot in about 15 minutes. John quickly dove into this and told me how much he enjoyed it. This was such an easy dinner to prepare.
Here is a close up look at the Campbell’s Fire Roasted Tomato Skillet Sauce with steak and brown rice. This meal was really filling and tasted great. I am looking forward to making the Creamy Chipolte Sauce pack that we brought home later this week. I think I am going to try it with chicken.
