What happens in Vegas all started with The Rat Pack!
While in Las Vegas last week John and I had the pleasure of attending The Rat Pack show at the Rio Hotel and Casino. I have always been a fan of Frank Sinatra but have never really listened to the other members of the Rat Pack. This show rekindled my love for Sinatra and made me look up music from the other members.
This show was one of our favorite events in Las Vegas. It is light hearted, fun, filled with amazing music, funny jokes and wonderful guest interaction.
When you enter the concert area you are given the opportunity to have your photo taken with Marilyn Monroe
This is one of my favorite photos from the trip! John is such a big guy that his arm almost wrapped all the way around Marilyn. She had to reach up and hold onto his hand so his arm did not wrap all the way around her or bump into any particular assets.
While waiting for the show to begin there is Rat Pack trivia on the video walls around the room. I have to admit I learned quite a bit of Rat Pack lingo sitting waiting for the show.
Did you know…..
They used the term gasoline for alcohal
Punks were undesirables
Harvey was a person who acted in a stupid way
Dimmers are eyes and a croaker is a doctor
A Dame is an unnatractive woman and a chick is a pretty woman
The screens shared great history and background information on the Rat Pack. It is amazing the lifestyle and history of these 4 guys.
The show flew by once it started. There wasn’t a single moment during the show that I wondered if it would be over soon or I felt bored. I wished the show would have gone on longer so we could enjoy the wonderful music.
One of the highlights for us was watching another couple in the audience. They were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. They were so cute and looked like they were on their honeymoon. She was dancing and singing along to the music. I thought she was going to swoon when the Rat Pack acknowledged them and their anniversary. Marilyn Monroe came over to wish them a happy anniversary and take a picture with the gentleman. Lets just say he was a few shades of red by the time she was done with him.
If you are looking for a wonderful light hearted show I would definitely suggest checking out the Rat Pack. Make sure you get to the show early to get the closest seats. The show has open seating by section. We sat in the Golden Circle and were able to interact with the performers during the show. There are cocktail servers available to order cocktails, beer and wine before and during the show.
