While we were in Las Vegas we went to our first Nascar race. WOW! The Sams Town 300 was on Saturday and was our first experience at Nascar. I have to say I was so impressed and in awe during this event.
We went to the Nascar race with 2 of our good friends who are big Nascar fans. We got to the race early to make sure we did not miss anything.
We started off walking through the sea of trailers selling merchandise for the event and drivers. We bought the best purchase that we may have made that weekend….seat cushions at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway store. Oh my goodness this was the best $10 I have spent in a really long time!
I have to admit I was a bit nervous when one of the first things we saw was the bomb squad. I told myself that at least they were prepared since it is such a gigantic event.
It was fascinating to watch the cars be rolled out onto the track and positioned for the race. The opening ceremonies were fun and really got the crowd excited for the race.
I was so excited to hear “Gentleman start your engines!” Wow nothing can prepare you for the sound of the cars starting.
The race was so interesting to watch. It is so quiet when the cars are on the backstretch and then you start to feel this vibration in your seat as they come around the corner towards the grand stand. It is amazing how loud the cars are as they go by.
I honestly thought I would get bored watching cars go around a circle for hours on end but I didn’t. It was fascinating to watch the pit crews work, how the cars maneuver between each other at such high speeds and the crowd. I would definitely go to another Nascar race in the future.
We paid for our own admission to Nascar. This is not a sponsored post. We had so much fun I thought I would share our experience with everyone.
