I have lived in Washington State almost my entire life. Recently I stopped in to visit George Washington in George, Washington. Yep you read that right I visited President George Washington in the town of George, Washington. The tiny town of George, Washington is located right off of Interstate 90 in Eastern Washington.
We have driven by the town of George, Washington countless times driving between Spokane and Seattle. On our recent trip to the San Juan Islands we decided it was time we stopped and visited this small town to see what there was to see.
When you pull off of Interstate 90 you can pretty much see the entire town of George, Washington. I read that the town had 501 residents as of the 2010 Census. The town was created to help support the local farmers. A local pharmacist decided to name the city George after the 1st president. We were really hoping there would be a great sign or statue of George Washington to commemorate the first President of the United States.
We were not disappointed when we pulled into town and found this great statue of George Washington. There is a parking lot right by the statue perfect for taking a photo and enjoying the sites of George, Washington. OK the town is not huge but where else can you say you had your picture taken with George Washington in George, Washington.
I am so glad we stopped to visit George Washington in the town of George, Washington. The stop only took a few minutes but provided a great number of laughs and fun photos. I love stopping and taking pictures of fun monuments and towns.
