After our last Caribbean Cruise we took a few extra days to visit Key West. John had never been there and I knew he would absolutely love Key West.
We started our day in Key West visiting the Southern Most Point in the Continental US. I love taking pictures of iconic spots in the US so this was perfect.
We also had our picture taken at Mile 0. John was so excited to take this picture and send it to his sister who has always wanted to visit Key West.
We had to stop at the Hard Rock Café Key West for lunch. It is a must stop requirement any time there is one in a town we are visiting. We have a friendly family competition to see who can get the most Hard Rock Cafés while traveling. Right now my Mom is winning but I am slowly but surely catching up to her.
We had an afternoon frosty drink at the Margaritaville. The bar was loud, fun and such a good place to enjoy a frosty drink.
We watched sunset at Mallory Square. This was the first time I had seen sunset at Mallory Square. It is quite the party and so much fun. We saw sword swallowers. I had to turn away and could not get a photo it made me a bit nauseous.
I made friends with a sponge man as we were leaving Mallory Square.
Our night ended at Blue Heaven with the most decadent piece of Key Lime Pie I have ever seen. Oh my goodness this pie was amazing! I hope to some day replicate this pie here at home so we can enjoy it again and again.
