This past weekend I had the pleasure of staying at the Red Lion Seattle. WOW! The Red Lion is in the heart of Seattle and offers amazing accommodations. One of my favorite parts of visiting Seattle is how accessible the city is. You can park your car at the Red Lion Downtown Seattle and walk to almost anyplace in the city.
I was in Seattle for the International Food Bloggers Conference. We spent the entire weekend exploring Seattle, attending classes and checking out amazing restaurants. I loved how easy it was to get to the conference and meet ups from the Red Lion. I never had to go more than a few blocks to reach everything I wanted to visit.
From the Red Lion Downtown Seattle you can walk to Pike’s Place Market in a few blocks, eat at one of the amazing restaurants near the hotel, and do some great shopping. If you are looking for a killer restaurant check out Purple a few blocks from the Red Lion. We had dinner there and the food was unreal. I can’t wait to visit the restaurant again on our next visit. I hear they have a secret wine room that I can’t wait to find out about.
Check out the view of the 5th avenue theater from my room at the Red Lion. If you are attending a Best of Broadway show or concert at the 5th Avenue Theater the Red Lion is the perfect place to stay. You are literally a few minute walk to the theater.
If you are visiting Seattle I will give you a great hint on finding your way around. Keep an eye on the giant Red Lion on the side of the hotel. This photo was taken from Westlake Center and you can easily find the Red Lion. I used the big Red Lion as my marker when I was walking around Downtown Seattle so I always knew were I was at.
A few months ago I talked about the Red Lion Kalispell and how I wanted to strap the mattress to the top of our Jeep and bring it home. Well the Red Lion Seattle bed did not disappoint. It was up against big competition after the Red Lion Kalispell Mattress and I must say it competed well. I slept like a baby in this hotel room. Yes there is city noise during the night but not enough that it kept me awake. I was on the 16th floor so I could hear the sirens going by randomly and a bit of city noise but it really wasn’t intrusive to my sleep.
There was a lovely Keurig coffee maker in the room along with local Starbucks Pikes Place Roast coffee. I say lovely because after 3 days of a conference and being out exploring Seattle a hot cup of coffee in the room was amazing. Just what I needed to get the day started. I enjoyed the hot Starbucks coffee while looking at the sun shining over Seattle.
