I really wanted to go snorkeling. Anybody that knows me can attest to this! I am still like a little kid when it comes time to leave! I believe life is not measured by the number of breaths you take but by how many are taken while snorkeling : )
Needless to say I located the excursion that took you to the neighboring island of St. John by water taxi then hop onto a bus that stopped by a couple viewpoints, snorkeling at Trunk Bay and a quick stop at the Virgin Islands Visitor Center before heading back.
The red bus is typical taxi service you will hop on when you arrive to the island to Trunk Bay and the fresh air feels wonderful. The taxi drivers are knowledgeable and tell you about the area in route to your snorkeling adventure.
You are greeted to one of the most beautiful beaches you will ever lay eyes on at Trunk Bay! The sand is perfect and the water is beautiful and beckoning you to come in.
The biggest surprise for me was that there is a underwater interpretative trail! There are plaques underwater telling you about the coral and marine life. Way to go National Park Service! There is plenty of Coral and fish to keep your head underwater until its time to leave. If you get tired then there is that wonderful beach calling your name.
Your time here will surely be to short and you will reluctantly hop on the bus back to the dock. We made a quick run to the Virgin Islands National Park Visitor Center then we were on our way back to our cruise ship. There is so much more to see and do at this park. There are several beaches and miles of hiking trails to explore if you have a chance stay longer in this American Paradise.
