When you think of Idaho what is the first thing to pop in your mind?
Did you instantly think of potatoes?
Now when you think of dining out in Boise Idaho are you thinking that most restaurants are going to specialize in potato dishes?
LOL! Don’t worry there is more to eating out in Boise than just potatoes! We had the opportunity to visit some truly amazing restaurants during our visit to Boise.
I have to say Boise is a foodies paradise!!!! I don’t think I can put enough exclamation marks on the sentence to convey how great the food was in Boise!
Each restaurant offered amazing food, great local beer and wonderful atmosphere!
I had the amazing Tomato Soup Fondue with grilled cheese bites! I am pretty sure this was my dream meal on a menu! I am a grilled cheese fan and this meal was AH-Mazing!
We had a hard time deciding what we were going to order looking over the menu. Thankfully there were 8 of us so we had a chance to try everyone else’s food. Each bite was perfection!
Now if you are more of a pizza fan I have 2 suggestions for you!
First is 10 Barrel Brewing! 10 Barrel is also located in the heart of Boise and offers a great menu including amazing pizza. They also have their own micro-brews. John went ahead an tried several varieties just to make sure they were all good. 🙂
10 Barrel is the perfect spot to visit for lunch or dinner. During the day the restaurant is bright and casual. The sunlight pours in the giant front windows! Keep an eye out for special events at 10 Barrel. John was incredibly happy we were there the day they held IPA Wars! Multiple breweries from Boise and surrounding states competed in a blind taste test to see who had the best IPA.
My second suggestion for pizza is Old Chicago. We heard about Old Chicago from a Twitter follower and it did not disappoint! Their mini pizzas are perfect individual size pizzas. The restaurant is also really casual and fun!
If you are visiting wine country make sure to stop into the Orchard House! This restaurant has upscale down home cooking! Where else can you order a Mad Cow Burger and love it!
Plus their gift shop area is fantastic! I could have gotten in a lot of trouble shopping in the gift shop if John hadn’t reminded me how full our suitcase already was. I had to decide between fun gifts or wine and I will let you decide which one won out.
For a great date night dinner check out Brick 29 in Nampa! This restaurant is located in the basement of a Masonic Temple and so worth visiting. Foodie Food is how I would describe this menu. I had a grown up macaroni and cheese that had my taste buds rejoicing!
The atmosphere at Brick 29 can not be beat! Small, cozy and intimate this is the perfect spot for a date night. They also have a back room perfect for group events.
Each of the restaurants we visited in Boise offered amazing food and GREAT PRICES! You can enjoy an amazing date night out without breaking the bank. I was actually quite shocked at how reasonable the prices are. I kept showing the prices to John and pointing out how great they were at each restaurant.
Boise truly offers something for everyone! From Foodie to Pizza Lover there is a restaurant for you in Boise!
