While we were in Boise last week we visited Rockies Diner and it was so much fun!
We had seen Rockies Diner on Man vs. Food and thought it looked amazing. When we were looking at Restaurant.com gift certificates that were available in Boise and saw Rockies Diner on the list we were so excited!
We headed to Rockies Diner on our first night in Boise. Yes, We were that excited to check out the restaurant.
Did I mention the waitresses are on roller skates! So much fun! I could not do it but they did amazing.
You can not miss Rockies Diner as you drive down the road. The sign is bright and oh so much fun!
The restaurant and the menu are totally themed to an old school diner. I had a hard time looking at the menu because I wanted to keep looking at all of the decorations in the restaurant.
Thankfully John did not choose to participate in the Rockies Challenge. I was a bit worried he was going to try to recreate the Man vs. Food show and try the challenge.
The Rockies Challenge includes a Johnny B Good Burger, Full size order of chili cheese fries, AND a thick rich milk shake all in 30 minutes or less without help. OH MY!
Johnny B Good Burger = 3 hamburger patties, a hot dog, pastrami, chili, Swiss and American cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato and mayo
Are you ready to take the challenge?
The restaurant was so cool! There is a dj in the booth playing 50’s and 60’s music. Guitars stuck in the ceiling, diner memorabilia, and so much more. I spent time just wandering around the restaurant looking at all of the decorations.
The food was fantastic! We were there pretty late on a Wednesday night and it was still pretty busy. I would love to go back for breakfast and see how amazing it must be.
My grilled cheese was cooked perfectly. John had a Greek burger and it was great. He kept telling me we need to try and recreate the burger. So you may see a Greek Burger coming up on the blog this spring once the snow melts.
Make sure you bring some quarters with you. The front entrance of Rockies Diner has some killer arcade games. I wish we would have brought quarters so we could play Donkey Kong, Pac Man and all of the games I have not played in years.
We printed a Restaurant.com gift certificate for Rockies Diner before we headed to Boise. If you forget to print your gift certificates or want to grab one last minute don’t worry! You can use Restaurant.com on your smart phone and show your server your gift card.
This is a fantastic way to save when you are out and decide to grab a meal. We love using Restaurant.com gift certificates to save on date nights and while we are traveling. We get to check out cool new restaurants and save at the same time.
