How is 2017 treating you? I am diving head first into spring cleaning and getting organized for the new year. Well I guess it’s not really called spring cleaning when it is barely 2 degrees out and we have more snow than I want to count but you get the idea.
We sat down and picked our words for the year and have been working on our goals and ideas to reach them.
Our two main goals/words/phrases for 2017 are Spread Joy and Back to Basics! I really want to spread happiness, joy, and fun this year. Through the blog, through random giveaways, through random mail, whatever seems appropriate for the day. I want to help bring a smile to peoples faces and make them have moments of joy big and small.
We are also focused on getting back to basics with our life, the blog, and everything in between. Making sure things are being done the way they need to be. I realized that some of the work I had hired out to be done on the blog this past year wasn’t done to my level of expectation and for that, I apologize. I am spending the next few months cleaning up what wasn’t done and fixing things going forward. Most of these are things that you probably will never notice but I do and that means they need to be fixed.
As we look ahead for 2017 we have some really big goals, dreams, and plans! Excited updates and fun things are coming soon that I can’t wait to announce. Know that we are working daily to bring you the best travel tips, recipes and life tips that we possibly can!
Sunday – Kicked off the new year with chai tea of course! Along with watching the outdoor hockey game, relaxing and pretty much doing nothing. It was perfection!
And just like that I am not leaving the house for a while….way to cold!
Who else is watching the Bachelor this season? I am going to fully confess that this is a show I never miss. I don’t know why but I love watching it. We curl up and enjoy a nice glass of wine while watching. Plus oh my god the It’s a dolphin versus a shark costume had me rolling!
Pretty much my whole week has been spent indoors trying to stay warm! I looked back at my snapchats and notes and I seem to be really focused on how cold out it is. I may need to start making some tea and coffee recipes to warm up.
More snow and cold weather snaps….I may need to visit a tropical destination just to spice up my snapchat story. Because really that would be the whole reason not just to escape the bitter cold.
Randomly Kitty Kitty has decided this is where she wants to sit in the office. John keeps telling me she is plotting to take him out.
She also seems to really like iced tea and I have to put my hand over the glass if she is on my desk. She wants to stick her head in it and enjoy some.
Pretty sure she is trying to figure out how to take me out or remove my hand to get to the tea. She doesn’t want me to pet her but dang does she love some iced tea.
Oh, and remember last week I told you I was hooked on Kathleen Brook’s books that I found on Amazon. Well, I am going to admit that I read ALL OF THEM over the past week or so. Yes, it is true I read all 16+ books in the past week. Thank goodness for cold weather being an extra excuse to not leave the house because I was so hooked on reading these I stayed up until 3 am one night.
It has been a while since I have stayed up reading a book but these had me hooked! I am now not so patiently waiting for the next one to come out. I need to know what happens!
Next week I am hoping to share my goal list of books for 2017! I have a pile of them on my desk to read this year. A combination of business, journaling, thought provoking books and more. Do you have any suggestions for books that I should read? I would love to hear about them.
This week’s Wine of the Week is Hahn Winery 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon from California. I picked up this mini bottle from the hotel we stayed at in Napa when I was there for the Bertolli Mangia Moment Event last year.
John LOVED this wine
I wish I would have brought home more than a mini bottle with me. Fully going to admit it was the free bottle in the hotel room. I figured it was a nice gift to bring home for John. Yes, I did tell him it was the free hotel gift which made him giggle. This is definetly a wine we will look for in the future.
