Does your Husband think you are a bit crazy when it comes to coupons and rebates? I have to admit that when I first started couponing John thought I was a bit nuts. At first he thought I was spending a lot of time and was not sure what the payout was for the time I was spending. Over the first few months when I showed him my receipts and explained how much I was saving he started to think I was a genius. Well maybe not a genius but it sounds good! One of the things that John now loves about coupons and rebates is Beer Rebates! Who would have thought you can get paid to buy beer certainly not me before we started saving with coupons. Beer rebates are an amazing way to save money and at times even make money for buying beer. I know crazy thought making money buying beer but it is possible.

Beer rebates are now fairly common at the stores. You can normally find at least one rebate available for beer. There are specific times of the year though that you can really maximize your savings on beer! Football season, Super Bowl, cinco de mayo, 4^th of July really any holiday or sporting event that you think of beer drinking you will see an increase in beer rebates. This is the best time to stock up on beer and maximize your savings.

Our favorite beer rebates are the $40 pre-paid card when you buy $100 in groceries including a 18 pack of beer. Depending on the brand of beer you can find an 18 pack at Walmart for less than $15.
You can maximize your savings by stacking coupons with the groceries you are buying to really save a ton! We try and pick up our groceries and any stock up items that we may not have coupons for during these promotions. This is a great time to stock up on paper products, specialty foods, decorations and so on that you may not have a coupon to use with the product.

The most important thing with beer rebates is to make sure you read all of the terms and conditions. Do you need to send in the original receipt, UPC, certain portion of the box and how quickly do you need to mail it? I try and mail our rebates out the same day if not the next day so there is no way I can lose the paperwork on my desk.  I then put a note in our rebate log book and on my Outlook calendar so I know when the check/pre-paid card is due.
