One of the great events that happens each summer here in Spokane is Pig Out In The Park. This is an all out food festival with a little bit of everything you can imagine available. Last year John and I enjoyed an amazing day wondering through the festival and trying new foods. One of my favorite things we tried was Grilled Pound Cake. I had never thought of grilling pound cake and knew then that I needed to try it at home. Fast forward almost a year later and I finally made Grilled Pound Cake. I added in fresh raspberries and vanilla ice cream to make it even better.
The Grilled Pound Cake is so easy to make and tastes amazing! The perfect dessert for a hot summer night when you want something sweet but don’t want to turn on the oven.
I sliced the pound cake into 1/2 inch slices and brushed them with melted butter. I added brown sugar to one side of the pound cake.
I pre-heated the grill to around 350 degrees before placing the pound cake on the grill.
I let the pound cake sit for 2-3 minutes on each side checking it periodically.
Once it had grilled lines and the brown sugar was melted I pulled it off the grill.
I topped each piece of pound cake with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream and raspberries. YUM!
