Mystery Date to Cat Tales Spokane

A few months ago John and I started having mystery dates. Each month we have to plan a date that the other person does not know anything about. The only “rules” are that we have to visit someplace we have never been together. This month I decided to take John on a Mystery Date to Cat Tales Spokane. I was pretty sure he had never been there and they have a really cool feeding program that I thought would be a great surprise.

John and I hopped in the car and I told him to head north. He was a bit confused and asked if we were headed to Mount Spokane or Sandpoint. I just smiled and said keep driving until we reached Cat Tales. When we pulled in he smiled and said that he had never visited Cat Tales before. I told him he was in for a great surprise! We had so much fun walking around Cat Tales. We were greeted by a 2nd quarter student from their training center.  The student was able to tell us so much wonderful information about the cats and their history. It is so sad/crazy/odd to me that people honestly think they can keep a lion or a tiger as a domesticated house cat. I have a hard enough time keeping Melebelly happy. I can not imagine trying to keep a 750 pound tiger happy and not have it destroy the furniture or well me.

Disney’s Oz the Great and Powerful Game Day Commercial!

Did you see the amazing commercial for Disney’s Oz the Great and Powerful during the Super Bowl yesterday?

I am on a countdown to March 8th when this movie comes out! I already have a date night scheduled in my calendar. When the preview played yesterday I instantly looked at John and said we are going to that on opening night! This movie looks like it will fly by as you sit on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. I am a huge fan of Mila Kunis and James Franco so that does not hurt this movie at all! I can’t wait to see what Disney has done with the story of Oz!

Our evening at the Spokane County Fair

Our Evening at the Spokane County Fair
Last night John and I went to the Spokane County Fair. We love visiting the fair and checking out the exhibits. Last night was Patriots night at the fair. Law enforcement personnel received free entry into the park. We had been planning on attending the fair so this was perfect for us. A free date night out in Spokane was wonderful.

There was a booth selling Deep Fried Butter, Deep Fried Brownies, and more. I can not really imagine what deep fried butter tastes like. Has anyone tried this? I was curious but not curious enough to pay $5.00 to try it out.

We were lucky enough to walk up right when the Alaska Racing Pigs were about to race. This is so cheesy but so funny at the same time. I fully admit to giggling and cheering for the little pigs as they ran around the track. It was so cute seeing the kids jumping up and down cheering for the pigs.

We walked through the carnival area and looked at the games but did not play any. I enjoy taking pictures of the stuffed animals and bright lights. Growing up my parents never let us play the games and explained that the games were not set up for us to win. This lesson continues to stick with me as an adult and I just can’t bring myself to part with the money to play the games. I think it is interesting to watch them but can not bring myself to spend $5 to throw a couple of darts.

We finished our night out at the fair with our annual treat. Once a year we indulge in an elephant ear from the same stand. Every time I have visited the fair I have picked up an elephant ear from this stand and I have never been disappointed.

Can you tell from this picture that John was ready to indulge in the elephant ear. He gave me the look that he was over photos and ready to enjoy the elephant ear.  We found a great set of picnic tables right near the grandstand. We were able to hear the country concert and enjoy our elephant ear. It was the perfect ending to a fun date night out.
