We absolutely love cruising! We took our first cruise for our honeymoon in the Mediterranean. Since that first cruise we have cruise to Alaska, Panama Canal, Baltic Sea and Caribbean. Did I mention we love cruising! These are 10 Cruise Ports we Love!
Barbados is amazing! The white beaches, blue water, Banks Beer and friendly people make this island a must visit in the Caribbean. We have had the pleasure of visiting Barbados a couple of times and each time we are reminded of how much we love this island.
Cozumel is a totally relaxed fun city to visit. We took a cab to the main shopping area and spent the day wandering. It is a really easy fun city to explore. There is a tropical bar on almost every street corner, more shopping than you could ever take in during a one day visit and friendly locals who are happy to show you the highlights of their city.
Juneau Alaska is a crazy fun city to explore because you really can’t get that lost. We rented a car knowing that in both directions the road ends and you have to turn around and head back into town. You really can not get that lost since almost all roads lead right back to the center of town. The Mendenhall Glacier is a must see during any visit to Juneau.
We took the Altun Ha excursion outside of Belize City. We spent the day exploring Mayan Ruins, holding baby alligators, taking a boat trip down a river and seeing Howler Monkeys. It was a wet, tropical day in Central America.
5. Venice, Italy
Our honeymoon Mediterranean cruise departed from Venice. We spent 2 days in Venice exploring the city. It was pouring down rain and still amazingly beautiful. We had the chance to walk the board walk in St Marks Square since it was flooded, take a rainy gondola ride and experience the beauty of Venice.
6. Mykonos, Greece
We visited Mykonos during our honeymoon Mediterranean Cruise. This island is breathtaking with the white washed buildings and blue doors. Everywhere we turned there was something truly amazing to see. We felt comfortable exploring on our own and were able to see some truly amazing sites during our visit.
St. Petersburg was unbelievable. John has always dreamed of visiting Russia. We visited St. Petersburg on our Baltic Sea cruise. The scope of things to see in St. Petersburg is amazing. There is absolutely no way to see it all during the one day stop. We visited Katherine’s Palace and it was so amazing.
Cartagena was our first time ever in South America. It is really hard to describe this vibrant city. It is a mix of old and new, rich and poor.
9. Costa Rica
Costa Rica was a total bucket list destination. We visited during our Panama Canal cruise and it was everything we had hoped for an more. Being able to see see gigantic crocodiles, scarlet macaws in the wild, and so many other birds was a dream come true.
Aruba is truly magnificent. The water feels like bath water, it is a super easy island to get around and they mix a pretty darn fantastic fruity drink.
One of our favorite parts of cruising is you have the opportunity to explore a variety of ports of call during each cruise. You have the chance to spend time in each location and decide if it is someplace you would like to spend more time.
