I love to drive fast!
I really do!
There is just something about putting the pedal to the metal and seeing what a car can do. When that car is a Lexus well, it is just plain spectacular.
When I received the email asking if I wanted to head to Palm Springs and drive a couple of Lexus F Sport on the Chuckwalla Valley Raceway, I replied in a quick second with a huge YES!!!
This event was like no other auto event I have been too. It was ALL woman who love cars, and it blew my mind. Lexus brought in 20 female journalist and bloggers for this event and showed us the Lexus difference.
The first night kicked off with a really informative presentation about Lexus and the F Sport held in a ballroom at the Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage. Now I don’t want you to think we were sitting at tables in a boring ballroom, no way this is Lexus! They turned the ballroom into a living room with comfy couches, cocktails and a relaxed atmosphere that was comfortable yet productive.
Did you know that woman influence 80% of car buying decisions! Woman are bread winners in 40% of households.
Lexus understands female influence in car buying and is focused on reaching woman and sharing how Lexus has elevated their customer service. Plus they are designed to deliver a thrilling driving experience. I have to say from my experience driving a Lexus F Sport this is so true! More on that in a few moments.
Oh and Lexus brought in a gorgeous Lexus LFA for us to swoon over. Sadly we didn’t get to drive it but oh my was it pretty. This particular LFA is the only one in the US of this type. There are only 500 of this series made.
You know it is going to be a good day when you wake up from a killer nights sleep to this sunrise over a few gorgeous Lexus. I could have stayed in Palm Springs for a month and skipped the snow back home.
After a lovely breakfast at the Ritz we drove to the Chuckwalla Valley Raceway. I would be lying if I didn’t admit to having a few butterflies in my stomach. I have driven on a track before but that was a demolition derby track and the point was to wreck the cars. The idea of driving a gorgeous sleek Lexus on a racetrack was both thrilling and terrifying at the same time.
Safety was of utmost importance and we all suited up with helmets as soon as we were near the race track. Lexus brought in a group of acetrack drivers and professional drivers to show us how to maneuver the course safely. Our first laps were with a professional driver showing us where to brake and when to put the pedal to the medal.
Here is a video I took on my phone while one of the professional drivers drove the track.
I love how great the Lexus sounds on the race track. You can hear the power of this sleek sporty car.
Sadly we didn’t get to drive this car but dang was it pretty to look at 🙂
After we went through a detailed safety briefing about the track, driving the car and having any last minute questions answered it was time for us to hit the track. We had the choice after the first round to go on our own or with a driver. How great do the Lexus F sport vehicles, the Lexus RC F coupe, and GS F sedan look lined up and ready for us to drive!
I decided to stick with having a driver go with me. How often do you get to drive on a racetrack with a professional driver helping you maximize your performance? I learned so many great tips on driving in general during my time on the track. It was fascinating how little changes in hand placement and body placement completely change the driving experience.
The Chuckwalla Race Track is a 2.68-mile road course with a whopping 17 turns. The combination of short straight-aways and curves made this one heck of a drive. The Lexus RC F coupe, and GS F sedan both handled the curves and speed easily. The cars hugged the road and I never felt like I was going to lose control of the car.

I am happy/proud to say that I topped 100+ in the Lexus on my 2nd drive around the track and it felt great!
I will also fully admit to squealing with excitement as the speedometer crossed 100mph! What a rush!

I have to send a huge THANK YOU to Lexus for partnering with Heels and Wheels to make this event happen. This driving experience was unlike any I have experienced before and I loved it. Being on the track with like minded woman who love cars was truly amazing. It was so nice to be with a group of woman who supported and encouraged each other. We all cheered as people hit new speed milestones and pushed past their fears.
