Hi from Israel!
I flew into Tel Aviv late yesterday afternoon and I am most likely still sleeping as you read this. I am hoping that jet lag will not be crazy but I am pretty sure it is going to be something to deal with. It is a 10 hour time change from Spokane to Jerusalem. I am so excited to be in a new country and exploring this area of the world. This is country #56 for me which I can’t believe
This week I am speaking at the TBEX conference in Jerusalem. I love being able to talk with other travel writers and share tips and tools on working while traveling.
This past week was amazing and blew my mind. The first part of the week I was in Austin, Texas for the BE Conference.
The Be Conference was for influential women in Media, Entertainment, Entrepreneurship, and Technology it included VIP networking, workshops, panels and mentor sessions with top industry executives, thought leaders and creatives in a first-class setting for networking, mentorship, and ideas.
Check out the hashtag #BEinAustin for some of the updates! I loved this event! It was thought provoking, inspiring and just plain amazing. So much energy and enthusiasm being in the room with amazing woman who are building their own road maps and creating their own paths.
A few of my notes from the event.
Soledad Obrien spoke about the 1st amendment and also how the press needs to handle the current government and their anti-press thought processes.
Madame Gandhi performed and was absolutely amazing. I am pretty sure we will soon see this talented young woman killing it on major stages and television shows. Her message about the future is female was amazing.
She is a Harvard education drummer who knows that she can help change the world to be a better place. So inspiring!
You know we couldn’t have a weekly diary without a Starbucks Chai at the airport. It just wouldn’t be right.
Is it a sign that I might have been overly tired when this made me smile a lot. Maybe it is because it is my hometown.
Can’t tell if Kitty Kitty is happy I am home or if she is plotting to kill me….it may depend on the moment.
Saw these at the store and they made me giggle. Are you a fan of Marzipan?
I finally broke down and hired a new housekeeper. It feels so good knowing that someone will be cleaning the floors and bathroom while I am traveling and John is home. She came for the 1st time today and I felt like weeping with joy. It took me a while to hire someone again but I am so glad I finally broke down and budgeted for it.
She is going to come once or twice a month and do the floors, bathroom, and kitchen deep cleaning I always put off.
Pretty sure half my bag for Israel is going to be filled with bags. For some reason, I feel like I need a huge assortment of bags for this trip.
I hope that you are having an amazing day! Next weekend I will share updates from my 1st week in Israel. I will be in Jerusalem for the first part of the week before heading to Southern Israel.
If you have been to Israel before let me know if you have any tips or info that I need to know!
