Today I am so excited to share an inside look at Disney Pixar’s Inside Out movie that comes out June 19th.
A while ago I had the chance to visit Pixar in San Francisco and meet the directors and producers behind Inside Out and the short film Lava. Today I am going to share the new trailer for Inside Out, some photos from Pixar and a bit of cool stuff about Inside Out. Later this week I am going to share more about the short film Lava which I truly fell in love with.
Up first is the new trailer for Inside Out! This movie is hilarious! Seriously so funny! We had the chance to watch a small out take from the movie and the entire group was laughing out loud. We all remember what it was like to be a young kid growing up with parents who want to do what’s right for us but our emotions well they have other things to say…
Fantastic right!!! Woohoo! Mark your calendars for June 19th it is going to be the perfect day for a movie night with the family!
Now for our trip to Pixar! Total bucket list moment! Oh my gosh pulling into Pixar was amazing. There is just something magical about knowing you are pulling into the production lot for some of your favorite movies.

Are you ready to meet the cast and characters of Inside Out!
Such an amazing group of actors and actresses in this film! When we talked with Director Pete Doctor and Co-Director Jonas Rivera during our visit they raved about the cast and how great they were to work with.
Director Pete Docter is the Academy Award®-winning director of “Up.” He made his directorial debut with Disney•Pixar‘s smash hit “Monsters, Inc.,” which was nominated for an Academy Award for best animated feature film. Along with John Lasseter and Andrew Stanton, Docter developed the story and characters for “Toy Story,” Pixar‘s first full-length feature film, for which he also served as supervising animator. He served as a storyboard artist on “A Bug’s Life” and wrote the initial story treatment for “Toy Story 2.” As one of Pixar Animation Studios’ key creative contributors, Docter garnered an Academy Award nomination for his original story credit on Disney•Pixar’s Golden Globe®- and Oscar®-winning “WALL•E.”
Jonas Rivera produced the Academy Award®-winning “Up,” for which he was nominated for best picture. Prior to “Up,” he had worked on nearly every Pixar film since joining Pixar Animation Studios in 1994, beginning with “Toy Story” for which he served as production office assistant. His subsequent credits include “A Bug’s Life” (as art department coordinator), “Toy Story 2” (as a marketing and creative resources coordinator), “Monsters, Inc.” (as art department manager) and the Golden Globe®-winning “Cars” (as production manager).
These were pretty amazing guys to have the chance to talk to about the movie and hear where their inspirations came from.
I love this insight from Director Pete Docter on the origins of the movie Inside Out
My daughter, If you saw UP, she was actually the voice of young Ellie in that movie. And she was around, nine when we recorded that. And she was actually kind of a lot like that character. She was would walk up to strangers and go, “Hello.” and talk to people, and spunky and bubbly.
And then she turned 11 and 12 and things changed a little bit. She got quiet. We talked to her teachers who’d say, “Ellie’s a quiet girl.” And we’d go, “Who are you talking about?” So obviously you guys know what that’s like. You go through a difficult, it’s sometimes very difficult, both from the kid’s point of view, and the parent’s point of view. And that was really the origins of this film, is trying to figure out what’s going on inside her head.
