I can’t believe we are already on Day 4 of the Epic RV Blogger Tour!
The past few days have been filled with adventure, getting lost, finding our way getting lost again and so much randomness.
I had a fairy tale vision of traveling in an RV in my head when we booked this trip. I thought I could sit in the front seat and type away on my laptop as John drove us across country.
The past 4 days I have quickly realized I was dreaming a fairy tale far from reality. The truth is the RV bounces, moves and shakes with the bumps of the road. My laptop when I tried to use it was shaking so much you all would have thought I forgot how to type.
One good thing about not working is I have been enjoying the country side as we drive along.
One thing I absolutely love is the random stuff you see on a roadtrip. The giant Green Giants The big Cows and funky sculptures along the way.
Day 4 was filled with the random roadside fun!
We visited the Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota. My parents LOVE the Corn Palace! It was a must see stop for them on this trip. They love that the design is changed yearly and all of the work that goes into it.
We visited Wall Drug which is pretty much a much visit on any South Dakota Trip. Where else can you sit on a giant Jackalope or see a monkey singing.
We saw random sculptures along the road and a lot of Wall Drug signs as we traveled down I-90.
One of the highlights of the day was visiting Badlands National Park. We arrived right at sunset so we had a chance to watch the sun go down over the park.
We had an interesting adventure finding the Mt. Rushmore Koa. We had been using our GPS to help navigate through the trip. Well as we were a mile down a 1 lane dirt road with a 32 foot RV we quickly realized that you really can’t always count on technology to get you were you need to go.
We were truly deep in the woods with no cell phone and just plain lost. We did a 20 point turn and got the RV out of the back roads and onto main streets until we found the Mt. Rushmore KOA.
It was SO NICE to pull in and get the RV set up for the night. We got a great night sleep and planned our Day 5 adventures to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse.
Before I sign off for Day 4 I wanted to do a quick mention of one of the sponsors for this trip. Insightly has been great in sponsoring this trip for 16 RV’s filled with blogger families.
