Today I would like to introduce our newest family member….Athena No Name Cat
Her name was originally No Name Cat but now we are calling her Athena, or Cat, or well a little bit of everything which she promptly ignores as cats do.
She quite literally walked into our lives and our house and has been here ever since. We had no plans for getting a cat and were not sure we were ready after losing Melebelly.
Athena just appeared one day and has been a great gift.
I know you may be thinking how does a cat walk into your life so here it is…..
John was home working outside a couple of weeks ago when an old co-worker walked up with a cat following her. She asked if it was our cat because she had been hanging around the park for weeks. While they were talking Athena curled up at John’s feet and just chilled with him.
We gave her some food and she spent the day next to John. He was drilling and using a hammer and she didn’t care. She just curled up next to him and was happy.
After a little bit she walked into the house and curled up on the couch…..Well a few weeks later she is still here.
We checked the local area and posted on Facebook to see if anyone was missing a cat and we never heard anything. We were still calling her No Name Cat because we wanted to not get toooooo attached to her if she was a lost kitty.
Now that she has been here for a few weeks and totally and completely made herself at home we have named her Athena. It was right around our trip to Athens that she came into our lives so it seemed fitting.
She now rules the house and our hearts.
