I am a child of the 80’s and 90’s.. ok and the 70’s but only for a little bit.
I grew up watching Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence on tv each week. They were some the stars that you could count on for a good laugh or to get caught up in their stories.
Yesterday I had the chance to live out my 90’s dream and meet both Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence on the set of their ABC Family TV Show Melissa and Joey.
They were both so wonderful, real, friendly and funny! They had all of us laughing and enjoying our time with them.
I will have a much longer, more detailed, with a ton more pictures up in a few weeks but I am still so in awe of the event that I had to write a little about it today.
This was my first time visiting a TV set and it was fascinating to watch. To see the amount of crew and space that the entire show takes up. I pictured a giant sound stage with huge rooms and 100s of crew members and I was wrong.
The sets are just a tad bit bigger than our normal living rooms, ok some people’s living rooms may be this big but mine definitely is not. 🙂
You could tell how much the crew loves each other and how proud they are of the show. Both Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence raved about the crew and how much they all get along.
So if that 90s dream wasn’t enough after visiting Melissa and Joey we walked through the CBS lot and checked out the TV Show Baby Daddy. It was so cool walking around the lot seeing which TV shows are filmed on site. You know we all had our eyes peeled to see who might be walking around but we didn’t have any celebrity sightings.
The set of Baby Daddy was very similar to Melissa and Joey with a lot more sets. The cast of Baby Daddy was really sweet and they each took time to come up and chat with us and talk about the show and their love for it. We even got to take selfies with each of them……ladies you should watch this show just for the cute factor. Oh my gosh these guys are handsome and so sweet in person.
Now you would think that would be enough for the day and we could retire for the night and just be blisffully happy at what an amazing day it was. BUT NO! Disney is the creator of magical events and they truly delivered last night. We had the chance to watch the movie Into The Woods at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater also known as the Academy of Motion Pictures and Science Theater. The same theater that the Oscar nominations will be read at in a few weeks. While I sadly do not have any pictures of the theater I can say it was amazing.
PLUS Chris Pine who plays Prince Charming in the movie sat 3 rows back from us and we all had to hold ourselves back from acting like 12 year old school girls gushing over our crush. I am happy to say he is just as good looking in person as he is on film.
The movie Into The Woods was spellbinding. I don’t think I blinked the entire time. I am so excited to take John to see the movie when it opens on Christmas Day. Here is the crazy, oh my gosh are you kidding me moment…not that there haven’t been 5 of these already during the day…..
We had the chance to sit in on a Q&A with the cast of Into the Woods and Director Rob Marshall and Costume Designer Colleen Atwood….EEK!
It was amazing to see them all on stage hugging and having so much fun together. Their love for each other and the movie could be seen easily. It was so much fun to see them teasing each other and sharing their love for Director Rob Marshall. Each actor and actress gushed about how amazing it was to work with him.
Today the Disney magic continues and ramps up a bit if that is even possible. In approximately 3 hours I will be joining my fellow bloggers to interview Meryl Streep, Tracey Ullman, and Christina Baranski together. I can’t wait to see these ladies all together. They are great friends and you could tell from the Q&A how much fun they have together.
After we recover from this amazing interview the day continues with even more interviews!
