A Destin Vacation Home Rental is the perfect getaway!
Whether you are planning a girlfriends getaway, family beach adventure or a family reunion! Vacation Home Rental in Destin is the perfect way to make your getaway amazing. I recently had the opportunity to stay at Blue Heaven thanks to Newman Daily Resort Properties.
I spent the weekend with a group of nine woman bloggers brainstorming, dreaming, talking, and so much more. Staying in the vacation house was perfect for our plans for the weekend.
From the moment, I saw Blue Heaven on Newman Daily’s website I was counting down the days to our getaway. This was the first time I had spent a weekend in a house full of bloggers, but it hopefully will not be the last time. We are already talking about when we can do a return trip to Destin.
From group dinners in the dining room to mastermind sessions in the living room this house provided us everything we needed and so much more! Oh, and can I say I think I might be the only blogger that was not on a Mac computer or an iPhone.
Going into our weekend away, I wasn’t sure how it would all work. Ten women in 1 house trying to live together for a few days….It sounds like it could be a reality tv show. Would the weekend turn into a Blogger Survivor episode and one of us get kicked off the island every few hours? Would we all get along? Would it be productive?
So many questions and wonders as I pulled up to Blue Heaven on the first day. John and I had flown in the night before so we spent the morning exploring the Destin area. If you are visiting Destin, you need to get donuts from the Donut Hole. Seriously! It is a must have not a want. They are that good.
As soon as I walked into the house I was greeted with warm hugs and excitement from the ladies. All of my wonder, worries, and a bit of fear disappeared in a second. These were my people, and it was going to be amazing.
I grabbed a bedroom upstairs and sent John on his way to visit with his sister. My girls weekend had officially started!
The house has seven bedrooms and 6 1/2 baths! We were able to spread out throughout the house and not trip over each other at all during the weekend.
The majority of our time in the house was spent in the living room brainstorming and sharing ideas. During the day, we talked about our businesses and shared tips and tools that could help push each other to new levels in the coming months. In the evening, we enjoyed a glass of wine and just spent time together. One of the neat things about being in a vacation home is we could snack or enjoy meals whenever we wanted to.
We stocked the kitchen with essentials on the first night including brie cheese, wine, and chocolate. The three food groups that are needed for any girls getaway. 🙂
Don’t worry we did leave the house and explore a bit of the Destin area! Saturday night we had a fantastic dinner at Brotula’s restaurant on the waterfront in Destin. They treated us like royalty and took such great care of us. One of the things I loved about the restaurant was they have fish finder tags on some of the meals. You can scan a QR Code and see which captain caught the fish, how long ago it was caught and where it was caught.
Similar to farm to table that we hear about here in Spokane they are promoting a bay to table thought process. They want you to know that your fish is fresh and who caught it. I hope we see more of this around the world soon!
Before dinner, we wandered the docks and marina area in Destin. The ladies all know about my sunset fascination and love of posting sunset pics on Instagram, so they planned in extra time for wandering and hunting for the best sunset spot.
I would say we found a pretty darn wonderful sunset spot! Standing watching the sun go down was one of my favorite moments of the weekend. Being with great friends who I rarely see during the year and enjoying one of my favorite things to photograph = happiness!
There are moments in life that stick with you, and this will be one for me.
One of the nice things about the Destin area is everything is so close and easy to get to. There is a Starbucks .5 miles from the house which worked out perfect for my chai tea habit. We were able to hop over in the morning and grab tea and coffee before starting our sessions. Plus the Silver Sands Premium Outlets are just down the street, and they have so many fantastic stores!
A few of the girls said that the running from the house along the beach was fantastic. The beach is gorgeous and only a few minutes walk from the house. We moved one of our social media sessions out on the sand one afternoon, and that was amazing.
The sand in Destin is unlike any sand I have experienced around the world. It squeaks as you walk along it. It is so soft and fine it’s amazing. I could have spent hours just relaxing on the beach and watching the waves.
Is it time to go back to Destin again? Seriously this beach is just plain fabulous! I may need just to move into the Destin Vacation Rental and never leave!
This weekend away was just what I needed! I feel like I have been re-charged with incredible ideas, love, so much friendship and excitement. I went into the weekend in a bit of a slump and came out so excited and ready to tackle my to-do list.
During the weekend, we each set a 30-day goal to push ourselves to try something new with our business and work through our scary to do lists. I accomplished mine two days after getting home. That is how excited and motivated I was to move forward! One of my 30-day goals was to shoot, edit and post a food video and I made it happen. I not only got 1 done I have 3 of them done within about a week of leaving the house.
Did I mention how motivating this weekend was :-)!
If you have a group of friends, you are always talking about spending a weekend away with or family members you never get to see, please take a second to look at booking a Destin Vacation Home Rental! Newman Daily has so many different houses and spaces that are perfect for weekend or full week vacations.
I would love if you took a moment to visit the amazing websites of the ladies I spent this weekend with!
Sara * Jodi * Amy * Amy * Jessica * Me * Danielle * Corinne * Jo-Lynne * Maria
And before I forget I can’t wait to share TrunkClub with you all soon! I learned about this amazing personal shopper program during the weekend and can’t wait for my first trunk to arrive! There is no shipping or return costs! Your stylists send you clothes based off of your requests, and you get to try them on at home and decide what you love!
Oh and I read Jessica’s Fringe Hours book again on the flight home, and it has inspired me to utilize the spare minutes that add up during the day. I found myself editing a video and sending notes during my hair appointment this week.
This weekend away with the girls was just what I needed! I can’t put into words the inspiration that these ladies provide on a daily basis.
Oh wow! beautiful house, beautiful place, beautiful people! Everything looked perfect! I personally would prefer to rent a vacation out in a vacation than staying in a hotel. This is certainly a great idea to get together and do some strat planning. I wish I will have the same opportunity with some bloggers in my area.
That house is amazing!!! Can you imagine living in something like that? I wouldn’t want to have to clean all the bathrooms tho, lol. Sounds like a great time.
I would definitely have the same fears as you did about staying in with so many people! But it’s amazing that everything turned out so nicely and that all the ladies were so supportive!
This sounds like you had a great time and all the photos you shared are incredible!!
I love it! I’m dying for a getaway, and haven’t had a girl’s getaway in years. That house is definitely beautiful. I’ll be checking out this home rental – I’m intrigued.
How beautiful. Looks like an awesome time. If I were ever to head out on vacation I’d for sure be doing a home rental, we have too many kids to fit into a hotel room so I think these options are awesome. Destin is a great place to consider.
That looks like such a fun trip! I love the kitchen setup and that bedroom is SO pretty! What a great time!
This looks like the perfect destination for our next family reunion. It’s big enough that all of us could fit under one roof!
This place looks gorgeous! I always love getting a house over staying in a hotel. It makes you feel so much more comfortable.
Sounds like a lot of fun and a beautiful place to stay. What a great ideas for place for bloggers to get together and brainstorm!
It sounds like you all had a wonderful but yet productive weekend. I would so love to go on a getaway like this one some day. The rental house is just gorgeous. I have never heard of Destin but I will have to check it out for sure. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
What an awesome, relaxing way to vacation. That home was beautiful and spacious and the beach looks so pretty!
Wow! This looks awesome! What a wonderful way to vacation, and that spot is just beautiful!
Just such an incredible treasure to get to spend this time with you – and so many wonderful late night inspiring conversations. Thank you, thank you, my friend. I’m better for knowing you and for having you in my world.
It sounds amazing! I love the idea of a Bloggers Weekend Reality Show! It could be really entertaining.
This looks great! We have always had such fun with vacation home rentals – it really lets everyone relax and unwind more than most hotels.
Destin is the vacation spot for so many of my hometown friends back in GA. My BFF goes there often. I’ve never spent the weekend with a group of bloggers. I can imagine all the brainstorming going on. It must have been so much fun and that house is fab. The beach, any beach, is my favorite place to be.
