During The BFG Event we visited Disney Toon Studios and learned about Disney XD’s Future-Worm!. A new animated tv show that premieres August 1st. Picture a kid who loves science, a worm with a bullet proof beard and titanium abs and time travel and you will be stepping into the world of Future-Worm!.
We viewed the first episode and it is bright, colorful and fast paced. I am going to fully admit it has been a while since I have sat down and watched a cartoon on tv. I have seen full sized movies recently but not tv shows. I want to let that be known just in case you think I am telling you things you already know about cartoons today.
I was surprised a bit because Future-Worm! is actually 3 separate stories in 30 minutes. It took me a minute to catch up that the stories were changing. I am used to cartoons that are the entire show so this was something new to me. The episodes feature Future Worm and Danny along with their super fun friend Bug. Oh and a Time Machine Lunch Box. Because we all need a time machine lunch box in our lives!
Danny and Super Worm travel through time to fight random invaders, get cool toys and have fun. This cartoon is great for kids that love science and adventures. Neil deGrasse Tyson is part of the cast and makes frequent appearances. Yes, the show includes an astrophysicist! Ryan Quincy told us that Mr. Tyson has made sure that the science they include in the episodes is correct and still fits the story line.
I was really impressed with the science knowledge that was woven into this movie. You learn cool tidbits while laughing and soaking up the adventures of Danny and Future Worm.
Ryan Quincy told us that his kids help him with the story lines and give their input. He said this is the most fun he has had in animation. He took the things he loved growing up and blended them together to create Future Worm. He hopes that people come away with acceptance, the importance of friendship and family.
You can watch Future-Worm! starting August 1st on Disney XD!
“Future-Worm!” is an offbeat comedy adventure that follows Danny, an optimistic 12-year-old who creates a time machine lunch box and befriends Future Worm, a fearless worm from the future with titanium-enforced abs.
While we were at the Future-Worm! event a Disney animator personalized a Future-Worm! lunch box for each of us. Such a fun surprise and treat!
I participated in the Future Worm event as press. All opinions expressed are my own.
