During my visit to New Brunswick, I had the opportunity to explore the Fundy Trail. The Fundy Trail has 12 miles of paved roadways that travel along the Bay of Fundy offering gorgeous views over the bay. There are 23 lookouts providing spectacular views over the water. Many of these lookouts are wheelchair accessible.
The Fundy Trail offers guided tours and walks along with full day tours of the area.
Fundy Trail is part of the UNESCO world biosphere and Stonehammer Geopark one of two geoparks in North America. The Fundy Trail offers the opportunity to explore on foot or with your car depending on what you are comfortable with.
During our time at the park, we had a guide lead us on a caravan of cars through the park. We had the chance to explore a few of the main sites but not enough time sadly to really dive into the park. I can’t wait to plan a return visit and spend at least a day or two in the park exploring. I don’t know if I am up for diving into the Fundy Footpath for 24 miles, but I would love to explore a few of the trails in the park.
There are a ton of great pull offs and hiking trails within the park. Definitely give yourself time to explore the park and the surrounding area.
Make sure and give yourself enough time to enjoy the gorgeous sites on the drive to the Fundy Trail Park.
Depending on the depth of the tide you may see boats barely floating in the water.
We stopped for lunch at the Caves Restaurant and enjoyed checking out the sea caves. When we first arrived the tide was so high we couldn’t see the caves. When we came back after visiting the Fundy Trail Park the kids had a great time wandering out to the caves.
