Have you ever had a hotel you dream of visiting for years?
A hotel that you think about every time you drive in the area and wish you had a trip planned there. That is exactly how I have felt about the Salish Lodge in Snoqualmie, Washington. For years I have dreamed of taking a romantic weekend getaway to the resort.
The resort sits next to the gorgeous Snoqualmie Falls and has a reputation for serving amazing meals.
I was so excited when I saw the Salish Lodge was available on Groupon! We were able to pick up a fantastic deal for a couple of nights for a romantic getaway during John's days off.
We picked up a couple of Groupons for our trip including getting our Jeep detailed so it was nice pretty for the road trip, beer tasting at a local brewery and wine tasting.
Booking the Salish Lodge was so easy. Groupon Getaways lets you search by the dates you are available and which part of the state you are interested in visiting. I honestly spent hours looking at all of the hotel options. There were so many to choose from.
Ultimately, the Salish Lodge won out since it has been on my bucket list for Washington travel for longer than I really want to think about.
John and I packed up the Jeep with snacks and headed out on the road. It is about a three and a half hour drive from Spokane to the Salish Lodge.
I am so happy to say it was a gorgeous day with sunny skies and clear roads. You never know what you are going to run into in March in Eastern Washington and we totally lucked out.
We enjoyed ourselves on our drive to the Salish Lodge taking time to explore the mountain areas along the way. The Cle Elum River was a gorgeous stop.
We even ran into a bit of snow which you can see I was not dressed for. Thankfully we did not do any hiking or trekking in the snow. We just enjoyed it for a few minutes before hopping back in the Jeep.
How funny is this car we found along the back roads?!
The tree is literally growing through the car. I wish we knew how long it had been there. We thought that maybe the car had been cut or there was a space but when we looked closer the tree is literally growing through the car.
Does this sign look familiar?
Did you ever watch the show Northern Exposure? This sign was part of the show. We found it in the small town of Roslyn, Washington. It is a super cute town with a delicious pizza shop and gorgeous murals on the buildings.
On our way to the Salish Lodge we stopped and picked up some wine, cheese and snacks at a local grocery store. We had big plans for our first night....watching a certain finale of a reality tv show with the fire place lit and some lovely wine.
Checking into the Salish Lodge was a breeze! They had our Groupon Getaways reservation all set up and we just had to show our drivers license and give a credit card for incidentals.
Check out the gorgeous room!
The room at the Salish Lodge was truly amazing!
