You know how some days things come into your life just when you need them. That is how I feel about the Katie Miranda Jewelry that I received right before I left for Israel. I kept thinking that I needed an accessory or piece of jewelry that would symbolize my trip and be something that I could look at and think back about my time in Israel.
A few weeks before I left for Jerusalem I received an email asking if I had heard of Katie Miranda Jewelry and if I would like to try a piece or two. As soon as I opened up the website I knew this was exactly what I was looking for. Katie Miranda designs jewelry that includes gorgeous Arabic calligraphy and gemstones. They are unlike any piece of jewelry I had seen before. I spent hours pouring over the website trying to decide on what pieces were perfect for my trip and to wear in the future.
I ended up picking two pieces that I absolutely LOVE! Habibti (my love) Arabic calligraphy earrings in amethyst and Hope Arabic Calligraphy Cuff Bracelet. Both of these pieces were so perfect for what I wanted from my trip to Israel and being overseas.
First, we have to talk about the Habibti Arabic earrings. When I travel I always wish that John is with me and look for things that remind me of him during the days. Especially when there is 10-hour time differences and we spend more time connecting via text messages than hearing each other’s voices. These earrings were the perfect reminder of my love for my husband and my love of travel and exploring new places. The amethyst is one of my favorite stones since I love all things purple. I also love the term Habibti, which I am going to admit I have read a few romance novels while flying and love the emotions the word encompasses.
The second piece I am in love with is the Hope bracelet! This bracelet speaks to me on so many levels. I had so much hope going into my trip to Israel but was also really nervous about the unknown. When I read this line on the Katie Miranda website it really resonated with me.
“There is Hope” (“في أمل”) in Arabic. When faced a problem let these three focal points remind you that you can brainstorm three solutions to your problem! This will get you out of a state of disempowerment and into a state of empowerment.
I LOVE that the bracelet is a reminder that when faced with a problem we always have a choice to choose how we deal with it. We can live in a state of disempowerment and let the world do its thing or we can live in a state of empowerment and make our own choices. This is a reminder I have needed not only while in Israel but also since I have been home. We are still working through John’s knee issues and what that will mean for our future and I have to remind myself every day to not get lost in the crazy but to stand tall and take control.
I have started wearing these pieces of jewelry on an almost daily basis now. I find myself running my fingers over the word hope and using it as a reminder to breath deep and take a second before making decisions. I also love that it reminds me to have hope and look forward instead of backwards.
Please take a moment to head over to the Katie Miranda website and see all of the gorgeous pieces of jewelry she creates. There is truly something for everyone! They would be perfect for mothers day, birthday or holiday gifts. Or my favorite a gift for yourself because you are amazing and deserve a piece of jewelry that reminds you of how great you are.
