Yesterday we had our first full day on the Carnival Conquest. We enjoyed an amazing relaxing day at sea. I am going to fully admit to taking 2 cruise ship naps and loving them.
The day was truly lazy and blissful! We woke up pretty early considering it was day after Halloween and we stayed up enjoying the festivities on board. Our first stop was Iquana Cantina for a breakfast burrito. I have been dreaming of a breakfast burrito for a year since we were on the Carnival Sunshine. They are so dang good! You can customize what you want in them and make them your own. I am pretty easy and love the crispy potatoes, some eggs, cheese and salsa on a wheat tortilla. John went for the jalapeno tortilla and all things spicy.
Plus a visit to the salsa bar to make it even more spicy. I stuck with some watermelon and my delicious breakfast burrito. After breakfast we headed back to the room to unpack and get settled in our room. We had so much fun with all of the Halloween fun the night before that we didn’t even take time to unpack. We just dug out our halloween costumes and went to play on the ship. Oh and enjoy our first massages at sea! Oh my gosh the bamboo massage was amazing.
Our day was honestly lazy and blissful. I have been exhausted since I came home from Bangkok a week ago. I finally just collapsed and let myself sleep. I slept most of the morning while John got some computer work done. I have to say there is nothing in the world like a cruise ship nap. The gentle rocking of the ship just lulls me to sleep. I am honestly struggling to not curl up as I write this post 🙂 It is just so dang relaxing.
John enjoyed a lovely Guy’s Burger for lunch with bacon and cheese of course. I had a fresh made pizza from the pizza pirate. I love that they make the dough fresh and you can see them working it as you wait for your pizza. Hello yum!
After catching up with our cruising blog friends we packed up and headed to the EA Sports Bar for the Seahawks vs. Dallas Cowboys game. Oh my gosh! Trust me you don’t have to worry about missing your favorite teams playing at sea. Pull up a seat at the EA Sports Bar and get ready to make some new friends. The bar was packed with fans decked out in their 12th man gear! So much fun. Talk about meeting instant friends. You can’t help but laugh and have a good time as everyone is cheering for their favorite teams.
After enjoying the football game we wandered the ship for a bit before getting some dinner. I have to confess something…..We totally skipped formal night.
It’s true! Comfy clothes and pizza won out last night. I heard the lobster was amazing but it just didn’t happen for us. We headed to bed early to get a great nights sleep before pulling into Grand Turk. John is heading out bright and early on a bucket list excursion! He is going deep sea fishing! He has always wanted to go and they have the perfect excursion in Grand Turk. I will be relaxing on the beach and maybe enjoying a beverage or 2 at Margaritaville in Grand Turk. The perfect day for both of us!
We are on a press trip with Carnival. All opinions expressed are our own.
