Over the past few months, we have been on quite a few road trips to different National Parks all over the country. One thing I quickly realized is there are some serious road trip essentials that are needed for every road trip along with some tips for making the most of your trip. We have partnered with CVS to bring you these great Road Trip Essentials and Road Trip Travel Tips to you!
Road Trip Essentials and Road Trip Travel Tips! First, we have to talk about the fact that chocolate does not travel well but is a road trip essential!
I don’t know about you but if I am going to be in the car for a while there is going to need to be chocolate at some point along the way. One thing we have quickly learned is that chocolate does not always travel great especially during the summer. There is nothing worse than breaking into your chocolate stash to find it has melted into a giant puddle of a chocolate mess that you are not sure how to eat. Or you end up trying to eat it and getting chocolate all over your fingers which spreads onto your clothes and car and who knows where else.
We have started using the CVS Curbside Pickup and app to make sure that we don’t run into this problem. This is one of my favorite Road Trip Travel Tips! You can use your phone to get ahead of schedule and save yourself so much time/energy/stress! In the morning I go into the CVS Pharmacy app on my phone while enjoying breakfast at the hotel. I pull up the snacks/water/tea that we need for our day based on where we are traveling and how long it will be before we get to an area with a CVS.
I use the CVS Pharmacy app and place an order for Curbside Pickup at the store nearest to the hotel or on our way. I make sure and grab both chocolate and healthy snacks so we are set for the day. Especially on our National Park road trips, I make sure we have enough water, sunscreen, snacks and life essentials. You never know what you can get in a park so it is so nice having it already in the car.
Another bonus of using the CVS Pharmacy App and Curbside Pickup is you never have to leave your car! Which means your entire family isn’t walking into CVS with you and finding 8 million things that they NEED for the road trip. I am sure we have all experienced those moments when you think you are just going to run in to grab a couple of things and be out in 5 minutes but then the family joins you and 30 minutes later and more money than you want to admit has been spent but you forgot to grab what you went in for. And the cycle starts again….
Trust me when I say the Curbside Pickup and the CVS Pharmacy app are going to be life changing for your next road trip! Not having to leave the comfort of the car is amazing. Plus you can take your time to craft your shopping list on the app to make sure you don’t forget anything. Plus you don’t have to worry about missing any sales or killer coupons! These are all accessible on the app and so easy to use. I feel like I actually save money using the app because I slow down enough to see what is on sale for the week and make sure and grab what I need.

Here is a list of Road Trip Essentials not to forget to pack with you!
-Cell phone chargers
-Address for your destination written out not just in emails in case you don’t have service along the way.
-Map/directions. If you are traveling to a National Park make sure and enter your destination into your phone while you know you have cell service so the map can find your destination and guide you there. There is nothing worse than realizing your phone map isn’t working and you are in the middle of the forest with no cell service.
-First Aid Kit, keep at least a basic first aid kit in the car with bandaids, bee sting kit, mosquito repellent, tissues and more. It is better to have these and not need them then to need them and not have them.
-Sunscreen and chapstick
-A great music list
-Blanket/Sweater – If you are like our car I am always freezing and John is always hot. Having a sweater or blanket helps balance each other out.
-Hand Sanitizer – Let’s be honest and say every spot you stop at along your road trip may not be exactly clean and sanitized. Have some sanitizer with you just in case.
