What is it about Las Vegas that both energizes you and wears you out. Oh my! This week started with Vegas and ended with a few naps, celebrating 11 years since our first date, and prepping for our upcoming national park trip.
This hat made me giggle! So pink and shiny!
I saw this while walking through the hotel…um wow.
Amy from MomSpark and I had a lovely romantic dinner at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant in Paris. It was pretty funny. The entire restaurant was filled with couples, and we were there as friends to see the Bellagio Fountains. They asked us what we were celebrating and if they could take a romantic pic of us. We, of course, said yes and posed for a lovely photo together. Sadly we didn’t buy it since they said it was $25 for a 5×7. We had fun but not $25 a photo fun. LOL!
One of our events was at the nightclub at the Aria Las Vegas. This was the first time I had been in a Vegas night club. A funny thing happened while we were there. I was out dancing with the girls when this guy kept bumping into me. I kept moving away so I could dance and he kept getting closer. I completely 100% missed the fact that he was hitting on me. It didn’t even sink in that this is what was happening. The girls were dying laughing and I was standing there so confused on the dance floor.
You can imagine how much joy John had when I told him the story and he started laughing. I seriously missed that the guy was hitting on me. Not that I would have done anything but I might have prevented the weird looks I gave him.
The majority of my time in Vegas was spent in meetings and at conference sessions. We did have the chance to take a ride in the High Roller which was amazing. I am always in awe of the lights of Vegas and how far you can see from the High Roller.
We also had dinner with Andrew Shue, yes from Melrose Place, because life is random and crazy!
Oh hello YUM!
We ate A LOT of crepes during our time in Vegas…A LOT of them!
We took Amy from MomSpark to the Pinball Hall of Fame before she flew out. This is one of our favorite free things to do in Vegas! Ok, not 100% free you do need quarters to play the games. This clown game was just a bit creepy looking! You can move his legs and arms and get him to dance for a quarter.
We headed downtown Las Vegas for our final night in town and had big plans for things we wanted to do. Then I met a pillow and fell in love with it and promptly slept for 10 hours. OOPS! I was a lot more worn out than I thought I was after the conference. Poor John ended up calling for room service because I was snoring away and didn’t feel like going out.
I was reminded that the road map we have planned out for our lives doesn’t always stay on track. 10+ years ago John was offered a job at Valley of Fire State Park while we were dating. When he told me he might move from Washington to Nevada I broke down in tears. I realized in that moment how much I loved him and couldn’t imagine life without him. After hours of talks, we decided to stay in Washington since we thought my corporate job was there. Little did we know that within a couple of years my job would end. We thought we had things figured out and planned out then life stepped in and changed our entire road map.
Without this change, we never would have started the blog or taken the chance at living our dreams. Such an amazing reminder that even when life doesn’t go as planned there are amazing things around the next bend.
I may have jumped a bit when I walked around the corner and saw Elvis!
Cracker Barrel in Las Vegas…Yes please! Hello yum!
Crazy amazing trip but so excited to see the cats and sleep in my own bed.
I don’t know if kitty kitty was happy I was home or that I was having yogurt. She LOVES Raspberry yogurt. To the point, I have to almost eat it in the middle of the room to keep her from getting to it.
I saw this on Facebook and thought it was random and fun
