This week can be summed up with one word….kittens, kittens and kittens. LOL!
It has been a little over a week since we brought Bandit and Pipsqueak into the house and it has been amazing, crazy, and a little nuts at times. On the positive Fluffy has become BFF’s with Bandit and they are like twins together. On the crazy side, Kitty Kitty did not respond smoothly in the beginning but is starting to mellow out a bit.
Sunday kicked off with our weekly Bad A$$ meeting at Starbucks! I am so in love with having these meetings to start each week. We go over our life goals, what we need to accomplish for the week, our budget, and any upcoming expenses or plans that need to be handled.
We did head out of town on Monday and Tuesday on a completely last minute trip. John was up at 6 am on Monday working on a post for Park Ranger John about Mount Rainier when he realized that the lodge had a room available and it was a great price. He looked at me and said….should we go to Mount Rainier today? Did I mention he also found out that the wildflowers were in peak bloom this week? So, of course, we packed an overnight bag and were out the door 30 minutes after he found the room at the lodge.
We enjoyed a great 5+ hour drive together talking and being together. I don’t know what it is about road trips but I feel like they are so good for our marriage. We talk and dream together without worrying about our phones or outside distractions. I think some of our best life plans come from being in the car together.
Mount Rainier was beyond beautiful and I am so excited for the pics that we were able to get. John is working on a big post for Park Ranger John talking about things to do and travel tips that will come out this next week hopefully!
The rest of the week was spent getting a ton of stuff done for the blog, cleaning, and taking the time to read and focus on our future. I have been trying to dive into meditation more and spending time relaxing and thinking about our goals. I started a really cool 40-day challenge with Amy from MomSpark this past week. We are both reading May Cause Miracles by Gabrielle Bernstein and loving it.
I have previously read Gabrielle’s book The Universe Has Your Back: Transform Fear to Faith last month and found it to be amazing. I saw Gabrielle speak at Mom 2.0 this year in Orlando and really enjoyed her message on focusing on the good in life and your gut intuition. We have some things coming up in life right now that are really making me take stock of what our life goals are, what our dreams are and how we want to react to situations. Sorry for the total vague life talk but I will explain a lot more soon when I can.
Just know that we are working through things and we know that in the end, we will come out stronger and in a better place. Our marriage is great so please don’t worry about that part of our lives. We just have some big life changes coming up.
I even put on this temporary trust tattoo to remind myself to trust in the universe and trust in our plans. It has been a great reminder this week that we are doing the right things and trusting ourselves.
I know you really want kitten pics…lol, who doesn’t want kitten pics in their life so here we go.
Pipsqueak cuddling after I finally caught her around the house. These kittens are master hiders and making it interesting to spend hands on time with them.
John and Bandit took a total cat nap together.
Pipsqueak hiding in plain site on my desk. lol!
This did not turn out as bad as it could have. Kitty Kitty just checked out Bandit and there was no cat fight which made me so happy. I was a bit worried watching this go down.
Can I admit something…I am hooked on fro-yo! I know I am probably super late to the whole Fro-yo happiness but I am headfirst in it right now. Also is it froyo or fro-yo?
We have been going to a local place Diddiers a couple of times a week the past few weeks and I am in love. French vanilla froyo, strawberries and waffle cone bits is my thang! oh my goodness now I am thinking it may be time to go again tonight. So dang good!
My parents are visiting for a few days so this weekend is all about family time and relaxing. I hope that you all have an amazing week!
