Home Sweet Home!
WOW! What an amazing, crazy, whirlwind adventure we had on the road! In 14 days we visited 14 National Park sites, drove over 4,000 miles and managed to consume more chai tea than I should probably admit.
We started the week in Yellowstone National Park and it was AH-MAzing!!!!! The weather was a bit crazy and dramatic but it all worked out just how we needed it to. I have always dreamed of getting pics of Yellowstone in the snow so having a morning filled with fresh snow was great. I didn’t get the iconic bison pic I was hoping for but that just means we have to go back in the winter to see the bison trudging through the snow.
Don’t worry I did get about 2.5 thousand pics of bison while we were there. LOL!
Holy Bison! I have been to Yellowstone before and I think between trips I somehow manage to forget just how close the Bison really are to you and just how BIG they are!
I can’t imagine going through the park on a bicycle or a motorcycle. Even in a Jeep I had a few moments of Holy )(EFDJFLSDJFLSDJFLJD as we went right now to a Bison.
I mean seriously there is just something about Yellowstone!
So we saw a moose right at dusk way off in the distance. So, of course, I whip out the binoculars and think I can hold my cell phone up to them and get a Nat Geo shot…or maybe not. The brown blur in the pic truly is a moose, I promise.
I just love this view!
Sadly Wednesday morning it was time to head home! I definitely had the right shoes on for the weather. LOL!
It was a winter wonderland on the way home. So much snow all over the place! I am so not ready for this at home but it was pretty for the day.
I know it will not surprise you at all that we had to stop at Cracker Barrel for lunch on our way home. I was so ready for a delicious comfort food meal and relaxing. They had the fireplace lit up so I pretty much didn’t want to leave at all! Have you ever walked by something a hundred times and loved it but never really stopped to look at it? That is exactly what happened to me with the Cracker Barrel rocking chairs. I have coveted them for a while for our front porch but have honestly never let myself stop and read the sign. I knew I would just want to order one on the spot if I let myself actually look at them in detail.
For some reason, in Missoula, I finally stopped and read the sign and you guys they have rocking chairs that are perfect for those of us who might not have the smallest of waists or hips or bums! I am so dang excited and now I NEED THESE in my life. I am completely and utterly dropping about 800 hints to John that two white rocking chairs would be the perfect Christmas gift this year. I have the entire porch designed in my head! I love that I could change the pillows based on the season. Oh yes, I went there! Hint Hint JOHN!!!!
I am just going to admit publicly that I completely held my phone and stared at it until the google map guys appeared. Also, can we just talk about how perfect the Washington guy is with his starbucks cup and apples for Fall. I was super excited to finally see it.
Yes, it is the little things that make me giggle after 14 days on the road and being in a 2-door Jeep.
I might have forgotten to change the Nest Thermostat settings to heat versus A/C when we left for our road trip. We came back and the house was down to 61 degrees when we walked in.
Does anyone else think the Starbucks cup kind of looks like a pumpkin with the green stopper out the top or is it just me? either way the chai was delish!
The blurry grey streak in the pic ….Bandit.
The little stinker somehow is already ruling the roost and taking over the top spot on the new cat stand.
Kitty Kitty just covers her face and sleeps through the kitten craziness.
Squeaky P is still only being seen in his favorite spot in the kitchen staring out at us….such a scaredy cat.
Saturdays have now become self care saturdays. I realized that I needed to slow down at least once a week and just be in the moment, relax and walk away from the computer. Yesterday was my first Self Care Saturday and it was heavenly. I baked, I read, I napped and it was blissful.
I hope your week is truly amazing! This week is all about getting life stuff done, double checking some fun new recipes and getting ready to head out of the country late in the week!
Here is a blessing and a hint from where I am heading…any ideas?
May joy and peace surround you,
contentment latch your door,
and happiness be with you now
and bless you evermore!
