Welcome to this week’s installment of our Real Life Travel and Adventure Diary. These are the posts where we bring you along on our crazy adventures and show you some of the randomness, craziness and real life things that happen to us during the week.
In case you missed our previous diary posts you can find them here
Week 1 – From Jamaica to Germany
Week 2 – The start of our European adventures
Week 3 – Viking River Cruise along the Danube River
Pretty sure one of the best feelings in the world is waking up from an amazing nights sleep in your own bed. We got home late last night from our crazy European adventures, and I promptly face-planted into our bed.
Normally I am not a fan of Jet-lag, but this morning it worked in my favor. We were both up crazy early in the morning and managed to get so much stuff done. Seriously before noon, we had two loads of laundry done, the suitcases unpacked, the floor vacuumed and so much more.
Hopefully, this cleaning spree continues, and we can work our way through the entire house.
It was a pajama pants kind of day. Most of the day was spent unpacking, going through emails, cuddling with the kitty cats and just getting stuff done.
We have no groceries in the fridge minus a few condiments, so frozen meals were a lifesaver. Thank goodness for a stocked freezer or we would have been starving.
oh hello 3:13am I was hoping to not be awake now
Oops we have no food in the house
Time to forage for something
Woot made it to 3:35am before being wide awake!
This is not the furry friend I expected to see on the back porch when I woke up this morning.
We ended up making a last minute trip to my parent’s house near Seattle.
It was a fun filled night of shopping for a blog post, catching up on life, and sharing photos from our Viking River Cruise.
My mom even made my favorite banana bread recipe.
Early morning hitting the road back home! Trying to get over the pass heading to Spokane before the snow really starts to fly. Thank goodness for Starbucks chai, a Jeep and my cute hubby by my side.
I found my new Chai tea mug…think its big enough?
Stopped in George, Washington to have a chat with George.
Jet lag is still kicking my butt. I tried to be super productive but it just didn’t happen like I hoped. Instead, I curled up, read a book and soaked up kitty cat cuddles as much as possible.
Kind of sad that the Bond Series of books that I have been reading the past few months. It was bittersweet to finish the last book.
Fluffy is not sad that I am home and available for kitty cuddles.
So I slept 11 hours last night. I must admit I ended up taking a sleep aid because I hadn’t really slept in a week since we returned and I was startin to break down. I was an emotional mess, crying, upset and just not myself. Thank goodness for some sleep. I woke up feeling slightly more human finally.
Busy, Busy, Busy day! Kicking off with grocery shopping for recipe posts at 7am. Bonus the store was completely empty and we were able to run all over the place without any crowd.
Filming videos, making recipes, photographing recipes, and trying to not eat all the food took up most of the rest of the day.
Check out what showed up in the mail today. A thank you from St. Jude for participating in the Carnival Dr. Seuss Day of Play…Have to admit I cried when I saw this. Such an amazing reminder of how blessed we are and the amazing things that life brings to us.
I have been keeping a secret for a while…..Saturday I flew to San Francisco for the #RogueOneEvent and I am so happy I can finally tell everyone.
We had to keep the event super secret up until we hopped on our flights and it was SO HARD! I wanted to shout it from the rooftops but I was good.
Grabbed a pic of an iconic San Francisco cable car as I waited for my chai tea in a coffee shop. I spent most of the day getting as much work done as possible so I could really focus on the Rogue One Event.
The Rogue One Event kicked off at Skywalker Ranch!!! I can’t believe I had the chance to go back to Skywalker Ranch again. (In case you missed it here is a tour of Skywalker Ranch from my 1st visit).
We were able to watch 28 minute of footage from Rogue One a Star Wars story and OH MY! You guys please go and buy your tickets for opening day RIGHT NOW! Ok, maybe not right now finish reading this post and then make sure you get your tickets. This movie is going to be EPIC! I may buy 2 sets of tickets so we can see it twice to catch all of the things we miss the 1st time.
I was blown away by the footage we saw. Check out some of the movie costumes that were on display at Skywalker Ranch. I will have an entire post later this week on the event and Skywalker Ranch.
Make sure and follow the hashtage #RogueOneEvent to see all of the live updates Saturady – Monday!
Next Sunday I wish share more behind the scenes pics from the event!
