We have had Total Tech Support Service powered by Geek Squad from Best Buy for over a year. We paid for the service out of pocket and honestly LOVE IT! One thing we found with moving into our new house is there is sooooo much tech to set up and some of it was outside of my comfort zone. Plus getting the new flat screen mounted above the fireplace just seemed super scary to me before having Geek Squad come out to do it.
I kept looking above the fireplace and realizing that I am super short and could barely get my arms above the mantle let alone hold a TV that high. Then I pictured standing on a ladder trying to do it and all I could think about was our brand new TV hitting the floor with a huge boom. Thankfully when we purchased the new TV the great staff at Best Buy encouraged us to purchase Total Tech Support. They showed me all of the benefits versus the cost and I was a bit skeptical but just knowing that someone else would be in charge of getting the TV above the fireplace I went for it.
A year later I can tell you that this purchase was one of the best things we did when we moved into our house! I have used this service for so many things I never would have imagined being able to use it for.
Everything from having someone come out and replace the glass surface on our stove and repair a knob to having them come and install our Nest Doorbell and garage door monitor. The Geek Squad agents are amazing and they have made getting tech set up in the new house so much easier.
The service cost is amazing with many of them only costing $49.99 for in-home services, plus you get 20% savings on repairs, and protection plans (Geek Squad Protection and AppleCare Products)! I also love that service is available 24/7. You can call the support line, chat with someone online or visit your local store for assistance. I work random hours and being able to hop online and chat with someone has been fantastic. I know that even in the middle of the night when something comes up I can reach out for help.
One of the coolest services we had done this year was getting our new TV calibrated. Honestly, I had no idea before talking with the staff at Best Buy that getting your TV calibrated was a thing. I could tell that John was all in when they were telling us about it so I had the Geek Squad come out while John was traveling for work. They set up all sorts of monitoring devices and went to work on the TV. I was honestly still a bit skeptical at this point but then when they were done and showed me the difference my mind was blown.
The difference in color and darkness on the TV screen is ridiculous. They were able to calibrate the TV to our space and what we watch. I am going to have to have the Geek Squad come out and calibrate all of our other TV’s because you can tell the difference when watching them.
I honestly didn’t realize when we moved how many tech projects we would end up with. I am so glad that we purchased the Total Tech Support last year and had the assistance of the Geek Squad to get everything done. I feel better knowing that trained professionals have come in and set everything up and made sure that things are working fantastic.
