    Sanibel Island Florida should be on everyone's bucket list to visit! The island is truly and simply amazing. It is hard to describe in words the feeling of visiting Sanibel Island. As you drive over the bridge to the island your stress melts away and you are greeted with paradise.

    Sanibel offers something for everyone and all ages! You can go shelling, enjoy amazing food, relax and read a book or simply do nothing but watch the world go by.

    Sanibel and Captiva Island can be reached via the Sanibel Causeway from Ft. Myers. Over half of the island is wildlife refuges with the largest being Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge.  The islands are easy to navigate with only a few main streets. There are a ton of restaurants to choose from including the World Famous Bubble Room.

      Just returned from our annual visit to Sanibel. Every picture is exactly what it is like on Sanibel and Captiva islands. If you like seashells, you will be in Heaven!!

      It's funny I am reading this because my stepson is gearing up to visit one of his friends who recently relocating to Ft Myers. I wouldn't mind visiting myself after seeing your pics. I love shell-hunting too – this place looks like a goldmine.

      I used to live in Florida and now I like in upstate NY. I miss it in brutal winters like this! It really is a gorgeous state.

      Love the photos, beautiful. When I was a teen, my mom's friend had a house on sanibel beach. It was so fun to spend the week there and be a few foot steps from the beach.

        Cacinda, Have you been to Sanibel Island? It is one of our favorite places to visit. There is just something special and magical about the island. We could easily spend weeks just walking the beaches and enjoying the island.
