I love tropical drinks! They make me dream of sitting on the beach in Hawaii, cruising in the Caribbean, or lazy days doing nothing but savoring the warm summer weather.

This blue lagoon drink is a fun bright blue cocktail and tastes amazing. I love that you can add in maraschino cherries and all of a sudden you have the perfect 4th of July cocktail.

Blue Curacao is one of my favorite things to make drinks with. We had the chance to visit a Curacao factory on a Caribbean Cruise

Small bowl of maraschino cherries, Tito's Vodka, Lemonade, Blue curacao, hurricane glass, and lemon wheels on a white counter.

    Ingredients
    • Blue Curacao
    • Lemonade
    • Vodka
    • Ice

Garnish - Maraschino Cherry, Lemon Slice

Blue Curacao - This orange-flavored liqueur is fantastic.

Lemonade - You can use store-bought lemonade or homemade lemonade like this Chick fil A Lemonade.

Vodka - You will want to use the highest quality vodka you have.

    Tools Needed

OXO angled jiggers - these are our go-to measuring tools for cocktails.

Bar Spoon - A bar spoon makes it easy to stir the entire drink and not get your hand/fingers in the cocktail

Hurricane Glass - For a truly tropical look serve this drink in a hurricane glass. You can also serve it in a rocks or martini glass if you want to serve a smaller cocktail.

Cocktail Shaker - This drink can be made in a cocktail shaker with ice or stirred with a bar spoon. It is really up to you how you want to present the drink. The cocktail shaker does bring all of the ingredients to the same cold temperature.

    Frozen Blue Lagoon Cocktail

To turn this into a frozen tropical drink all you need to do is combine the lemonade, blue curaรงao, vodka, and ice in a blender and blend until you reach the desired consistency. You may need to increase the lemonade depending on the size of the drink you are making.

How to Make a Blue Lagoon Cocktail Pitcher

You can double or triple or more this recipe depending on the size of your pitcher.

What is the difference between a Blue Lagoon and a Blue Hawaiian?

A Blue Hawaii drink is rum-based instead of vodka-based.

Does Curacao have Alcohol in it?

Yes, Curacao is an orange-flavored liquor produced on the island of Curacao.

    Recipe Tips

This recipe can easily be adapted to serving it in a pitcher or smaller glasses.

If you want a lighter drink add in more lemonade and less vodka so you retain the blue color of the cocktail drink.

There are variations of this drink made with Sprite or 7-up to make a bubbly blue drink

If you want to lower the alcohol content you can use a Blue Curacao syrup that does not contain any booze.

To make this fewer calories you can use light lemonade or no sugar lemonade.
