We did the hard job of trying all of the sweet treats we could find in Gulf Shores-Orange Beach during our trip to Alabama. It was a hard job but someone had to do it...HA!
It was a sweet job that was so much fun! We tried everything from Donut Hamburgers to White Chocolate Bread Pudding to see what would make our list of best Sweet Treats you need to try in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach!

Crazy milkshakes at The Yard
Imagine an overflowing mason jar filled with sweet goodness! Choose from the Unicorn with a birthday cupcake on top, Smores with a giant chocolate coated smores on top or even the Caramel Cheesecake that has a full slice of cheesecake on top of it.
Don’t worry you can also get a single cup or shake that is not a crazy shake at the Yard.
They even have edible cookie dough you can put in a waffle cone. Fill all your cookie dough cravings and get a double scoop piled in a cone.
Be prepared for a bit of line depending on what time of year you go! Trust us it is worth the wait!

Sassy Bass Crazy Donuts
Are donuts more your speed?
What about a flatline donut that has two hamburger patties, candied bacon bits, mozzarella and cheddar cheese squished between glazed donut bun...
Yes, it really is a thing. They also have a donut burger that includes pulled pork and cheese whiz.
If you are looking for a festive donut try the margarita donut or the strawberry swirl that is filled with strawberry goodness and topped with a giant strawberry. They also offer flavors like Tiramisu, cereal coated and more!
Oh and pizza donuts! We didn’t have a chance to try those but they are definitely on the list for our next visit to Gulf Shores.

Key Lime Pie at LuLu’s
Lulus is a Gulf Shores institution for a reason!
This restaurant serves up good food and a killer slice of Key Lime Pie. One of the things we love is they offer multiple allergy menus so you don’t have to worry if you are allergic to gluten, soy, or other food items. Just ask for the special allergy menus.
The Key Lime Pie is delish! A must-try during your visit to Gulf Shores!

Lickin Good Donuts
If you are looking for super cute and delicious donuts make sure to visit Lickin Good Donuts! Our favorite was the mermaid donut since we hadn't seen one before. I am going to admit to also loving the minion and Elmo donuts. Ok, who am I kidding they were all amazing.

White Chocolate Coconut Bread Pudding at Fishers
Oh hello yum! This White Chocolate Coconut Bread Pudding will make any coconut fan smile from ear to ear!
We split it between three of us and there wasn’t a drop left on the plate. This is the perfect way to end a fantastic meal at Fisher’s Dockside.
Don’t worry you don’t have to just get dessert you can also enjoy a heaping platter of shrimp and grits, seafood catch of the day, and the must-try root beer sweet potatoes
I would go back just for the sweet potatoes..hmm maybe that should be its own sweet treat not to miss!

Java Chip Frappe at Southern Grind Coffee House
If you are looking for a coffee treat look no farther than the Southern Grind Coffee House. They will whip you up a frappe that is perfect on a warm day in Gulf Shores.
They also have the most amazing salted caramel cookies that I wish I would have bought a dozen of to bring home with me.

Key Lime Tart at Coast Gulf Cuisine at the Beach Club
Another key lime treat that you need to try!
This key lime tart is not super key lime in your face but instead of nicely balanced with the crust. The key lime tart can easily be shared or dived headfirst on your own.
Don’t worry we won’t judge you at all! We completely understand wanting to face plant into this key lime goodness!

Powdered sugar-coated fried dough goodness that will make a mess all over your shirt and be so worth it!

Homemade Pop-Tarts at BuzzCatz Coffee & Sweets
There are so many amazing choices in the pastry case at BuzzCatz that it can honestly be hard to pick just one thing.
We fell in love with the homemade pop-tarts and the cookies! This is the perfect place to stop in for a breakfast sandwich, a great cup of coffee and a sweet treat.

Key lime donut at City Donuts
If you can't tell we really enjoy key lime anything! These key lime donuts at City Donuts are so good I would get up crazy early in the morning just to get one or two.
During the busy season, you will want to make sure you get to City Donuts EARLY!!! Their donuts are so good that it is not uncommon for them to be sold out by 9 am!

Shave Ice from Frost Bites Food Truck at the Beach Club
Need to cool off from a day at the beach? Head to the Frost Bites Food Truck at the Beach Club for some shave ice! They offer a ton of shaved ice flavors you will want to try! Plus there are also a barbecue, sandwich, and beverage trucks in the same area. You don’t have to be staying at the Beach Club to enjoy the food trucks. They are before the security shack and have parking right near them.
There are picnic tables and a great lawn area to relax in as a family!

From a local--You missed the best ones! Sea Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies from "Sarah's homemade" and anything from "Hope's cheesecake". Lot's of great cheesecake flavors including a delicious lower sugar key lime one. There's also great candy and pralines to be found everywhere, I like "The Chocolate Corner".

SHAME ON YOU!! I gained weight just imagining how each thing tasted!! Next time you're in Gulf Shores head over to Pensacola, the beaches are pure heaven!! McGuire's Irish Pub is in downtown Pensacola,they have their own brewery and the food ~OMG~so much food for so little money!!
