If there is one cocktail that tastes like a vacation in a glass, it's the Painkiller Cocktail. Born in the British Virgin Islands and beloved at tiki bars and beach destinations around the world, this tropical classic is creamy, fruity, and super easy to drink.

Equipment Needed
Tiki Glass - We love serving this drink in a great tiki glass to set the tropical mood.
Cocktail Shaker - You want to make sure you have a shaker that you can hold together and shake to get this drink ice cold. Please be careful and keep two hands on the cocktail shaker so it does not open up.
Jigger - The perfect way to measure your cocktail and make sure the flavors are balanced.
How to make a Painkiller Cocktail
I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here's a quick version.
Combine - Add Rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, and cream of coconut to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Shake - Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled and combined.
Serve - Strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass or tiki mug, dust generously with freshly grated nutmeg
Preparation and Storage
Make Ahead - The Painkiller is a great cocktail to batch up ahead of time for a party or beach day. Simply combine the rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, and cream of coconut in a large pitcher or sealed container and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
When you're ready to serve, give it a good stir, pour over fresh ice, and finish each glass with a dusting of freshly grated nutmeg. Just hold off on adding the ice until you're ready to pour so your batch stays perfectly chilled without getting watered down.
Storage - If you find yourself with leftover Painkiller mix, store it in a sealed pitcher or airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Give it a good stir before serving as the cream of coconut can settle to the bottom. For the best flavor and freshness, always add ice and freshly grated nutmeg at the time of serving rather than storing the finished cocktail.
