Buckeye Bars

I also love how easy this recipe is to make! You probably have all the ingredients in your pantry already! The base is a chocolate brownie mix! So easy to whip up this delicious Peanut Butter Chocolate Brownie Bar recipe!

Whenever I think about Buckeye Bars they remind me of my Grandfather cheering on Ohio State Football. I decided to make this recipe in honor of my late Grandfather and his love of Ohio and Ohio State.

My Grandfather was a devout Ohio State Fan. He went to school at OSU and kept his Varsity O for the rifle team over his desk. Watching the OSU games was a treat when we went to visit my grandparents in Ohio. We got to see my Grandfather let loose and avidly cheer on his team.

These Chocolate Peanut Butter Buckeye Bars are seriously delicious! I mean melt in your mouth please can I have another delicious. I am not just saying that because I made them they really are that good.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Buckeye Bars

Ingredients needed to make Buckeye Bars

  • Brownie mix
  • Eggs
  • Vegetable oil
  • Water
  • Sweetened condensed milk
  • Peanut butter

You can add in peanuts to the peanut butter layer or use crunchy peanut butter if you want a bit of crunch.

You can also add chocolate chips to the brownie batter if you want to make them even more decadent.

Equipment Needed

9X9 baking pan - I wanted a thick brownie and peanut butter layer so I used a 9x9 pan. If you want to spread this dessert out for more people you can use a 9x13 casserole baking dish

Hand Mixer/Stand Mixer - You can mix this with either a hand mixer or your stand mixer.

Cooking Spray/Parchment Paper - This will help make it a lot easier to remove the brownies from the prepared pan.

Heat resistant potholders - A couple of years ago we had a fire scare when we didn't realize we had turned a burner on and a cloth potholder caught fire. Thankfully we walked by the kitchen and saw the smoke and were able to get it out ourselves. Since then we have only used these heat-resistant potholders.
