3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars

My sister in law was in town when I made the latest batch of these and she was so excited. I had no idea my Mother in Law used to make them for John and his sister as an afterschool treat. It was so fun hearing them talk about what they used to be like as kids.

I love how easy these no-bake peanut butter Cheerio bars are to make. We are really focused on trying to make more recipes that use pantry staples.

This past year has shown how important it is to make sure your pantry is stocked and filled with ingredients you can use in multiple recipes.

I know my grocery shopping has changed a lot since we started staying home 24/7 and only shopping once a week. My goal for this year is to keep sharing easy recipes that use mainly pantry staples. I may throw in some fun random surprises but for the most part my goal is easy recipes we can all make.

Did you see the Muffin Mix Pancakes we shared a few days ago? Don't miss the 3 ingredient banana bread recipe that is so easy to make with pantry staples.

Ingredients Needed

  • Peanut Butter
  • Honey
  • Cheerios Cereal

Add-ins - You can easily add in chocolate chips for more flavors.

I use plain Cheerios Cereal but you can use Honey Nut Cheerios or any flavor Cheerios.

Equipment Needed

Sauce pan - Make sure you use a saucepan or pot that is big enough to handle all of the ingredients when you mix them in.

Wooden Spoon - I find a wooden spoon perfect for mixing these together and getting clean afterward.

Parchment Paper - I am a huge fan of using parchment paper to make clean up and serving so much easier. You can also use wax paper but I feel like parchment paper works the best.

8X8 Baking Pan - This is the perfect size for this recipe. I like to use a pan with a lid so I can store these in the refrigerator if they last more than one afternoon.

Recipe Tips

Make sure to melt the peanut butter and honey at low to medium heat so it doesn't burn. You want to continually stir the mixture while it combines.

This recipe can also be made in a microwave-safe bowl in the microwave. Make sure to use a large bowl so you have space to mix everything.

If you don't have any Cheerios you can change this recipe up and use Rice Krispies instead.

Lining the baking pan with parchment paper makes it really easy to clean up and remove these cheerio bars from the pan.
