Crockpot Banana Bread Recipe

Is the weather starting to heat up in your area? I love using our slow cooker to make recipes all summer long. Heck, who am I kidding I use the slow cooker year-round and love it.

I keep a stack of frozen bananas in the freezer at all times so I can make this Crockpot Banana Bread whenever I want.

Ingredients

  • Eggs
  • Butter
  • Sugar
  • Flour
  • Baking powder
  • Baking soda
  • Salt
  • Bananas

Recipe Tips

The paper towels placed under the lid help absorb any extra moisture in the slow cooker so your banana bread cooks properly. You will want to make sure that they do not drape down over the pan and attach to your bread dough.

Before putting the bread dough in your bread loaf pan make sure that the pan fits in your slow cooker and the lid can close completely. I have a few pans that fit but then other ones will randomly be to big.

    Hi,
I never measured my pan, and it fits but it doesn't touch the bottom. Does it have to touch the bottom? I would assume so because it has to bake, right?
    Thank you.

I use a metal pan because that is what fits in my crock pot. I would just make sure it fits properly before you add in the bread.

Do you put the crock pot lid on and then put paper towels over the lid or under the lid? Or no lid at all just paper towels?

I put the towels under the lid to capture the moisture.

I used the breadpan that fit in my crockpot. I had to fit a few of them in until I found the one that fit right.

Do you not put lid on crockpot, just paper towels? Sure want to try this.

Are you supposed to put water in the bottom of the crock pot? I had to do that when I made a pumpkin bread in the crockpot. Just wondering. Thanks!

Hi, When I made this I did not add water to the bottom of the crock pot. When you made the pumpkin bread did it come out moist from the water?

Yes! The pumpkin bread was VERY moist from the water added to the bottom of the crock pot. Thanks! I made your recipe without the water & it was delicious!

I think my kids will love this, just one question, do I place the paper towels instead of the crock pot lid? Or paper towels, then lid?

    Thanks!

      Hi Erika,
Paper towels and then lid. The papertowels help absorb the moisture that is generated so the bread does not get soggy

I'm glad I read these comments because I was confused about the lid as well! I would suggest writing the paper towel part AND then the lid in the directions. 🙂 I'm excited to try this!

I love banana bread and was so excited to find a crock-pot recipe for it! Is there something dairy-free I could replace the butter with?

I have only tried making it with butter. I am not sure how a non dairy substitute would work.
