One of our good friends in Hawaiian and grew up on the Big Island. For years she has been telling me how much she misses snacking on Hawaiian Hurricane Popcorn.

She grew up having it and has asked her sisters for the recipe and her aunties back on the island. I decided it would be fun to surprise her with a big bag of hurricane popcorn as both a thank you and congratulations.

She watches our cats while we are traveling so I figured it would be a fun surprise to come in and find a big bag of it on the counter.

Our friend also recently completed many months of chemo. She has been such a rockstar going through the entire process.

This hurricane popcorn was a perfect surprise.

Especially since we don't have a local supermarket that carries Hawaiian specialties sadly.

    What is Hawaiian Hurricane Popcorn?

This popcorn is also called Nori Popcorn for the dried seaweed flakes you find in the mix.
