This is the week of lots of Halloween candy and treats! I am not sure how it is Halloween week but somehow it is here.

I saw a countdown to Christmas this morning and I am not ready. My brain has not processed that winter is almost here and we have snow in our forecast.

Since the weather is cold cold and frightful I have been spending time in our warm kitchen whipping up a ton of Halloween recipes.

So far we have done a ton of mummy and ghosts recipes. I may need to switch over to a new ghoulish figure for some more fun.

Kids will love this easy treat.

    Ingredients

This is a quick overview of the simple ingredients that you'll need to make an epic Marshmallow Ghost! Specific measurements and step-by-step instructions are included in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post.

    • Marshmallows - regular or large
    • White chocolate, candy melt, almond bar, vanilla bark
    • Black icing pen

Ghost Eyes - We drew the eyes and mouth on with an icing pen. You can also use mini chocolate chips or candy eyeballs or use a piping bag to add the eyes.

Marshmallows - We use store bought marshmallows but these would be great with homemade marshmallow.

    Equipment Needed

Candy Dippers - these tools help to dip the marshmallows into the candy melt and remove them easily. You can also use a fork or skewer.

Large Mixing Bowlย - We are big fans of this glass batter bowl that has a handle. It makes it easy to mix ingredients and keeps the mixing bowl steady on the counter.

Baking Sheetsย - We are huge fans of these cookie sheet with sides. You don't have to worry; you will move the strawberries and have them slide right off.

Parchment Paper -ย  I love that I can use parchment paper to help make clean-up a breeze. You can also use a sheet of wax paper.

We used premade marshmallows. If you are making marshmallows from scratch you will need a candy thermometer, whisk, stand mixture, and more to work the gelatin mixture.

Step 3 - Dip marshmallows in melted chocolate until nicely coated. If you don't feel like there is enough coating you can drop more over the top by the spoonful. Maneuver it around the marshmallow to create the ghosts covering.

Place on Parchment paper to set. Draw on a ghost face if desired.

    Preparation and Storage

I have not tried making these with classic peeps ghosts.

Vegetarian Option - Switch to vegetarian marshmallows.

Vegan Option โ€“ Switch to vegan marshmallows like Dandies

Gluten Free - A lot of marshmallows are gluten free. Just make sure to check the ingredients just in case.

If your chocolate is not smooth enough or you need to thin it out you can add in a little bit of coconut oil to the mix to make it easier to dip.
