Are you hosting a Halloween party this year? We have been having so much fun making easy Halloween treats that kids and adults will love.

We celebrated mummies for an entire week and have now moved into spooky ghost treats. Though I may need to make mummy pretzels to pair with these fun Halloween pretzels.

We hope that you have the perfect Halloween filled with chills, thrills, and so much fun!

    Ingredients

This is a quick overview of the simple ingredients that you'll need to make an epic pretzel ghost! Specific measurements and step-by-step instructions are included in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post.

    • Pretzels
    • Candy Melt/Almond Bark/Candy Quick
    • Candy eyeballs or mini chocolate chips for the eyes.

Pretzels - We used mini pretzels to make these mini ghost pretzels. You can use big pretzels if you wantย  larger screaming ghost pretzels.

    Equipment Needed

Candy Dippers - these tools help to dip the pretzels into the candy melt and remove them easily. You can also use a fork or skewer.

Large Mixing Bowl - We are big fans of this glass batter bowl that has a handle. It makes it easy to mix ingredients and keeps the mixing bowl steady on the counter.

Baking Sheetsย - We are huge fans of these cookie sheet with sides. You don't have to worry; you will move the strawberries and have them slide right off.

Parchment Paperย -ย  I love that I can use parchment paper to help make clean-up a breeze.

    How to make Pretzel ghosts

I've included complete instructions in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post, but here's a quick version.

Step 1ย - Gather all of the ingredients, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2ย - Microwave candy melt/almond bark/white chocolate in 30 second intervals stir after every interval until completely melted.

Check the package directions for the best way to melt the vanilla bark or chocolate.

Make sure to use a microwave-safe bowl.

Step 3 - Dip pretzels in melted chocolate until nicely coated. Place on Parchment paper to set.

To create ghosts' tails you can spread a bit of white chocolate on the parchment before placing the pretzels on it or you can heavy dip the pretzels and not let the excess chocolate dip off.

Don't forget to scrape down the side of the bowl to move excess chocolate/bark to the bottom.

Step 4 - Place candy eyes and allow to set. To create the open mouth use a skewer to move the excess coating out of the open space.

    Preparation and Storage

Make Ahead โ€“ These can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container.

Storage โ€“ Store in an airtight container at room temperature

Freezing/How to freeze โ€“ We do not suggest freezing these ghost pretzels.

    Recipe Variations

Substitutions - Try using different colored candy melts, shapes of pretzels, or drawing on the eyes.

If you use melted white chocolate chips you may need to add in shortening or coconut oil to smooth it out.

Vegetarian Option - This recipe is vegetarian.

Vegan Option โ€“ Use vegan white chocolate or confirm that the almond bark is vegan. Make sure you are using vegan pretzels.

Gluten Free - Use Gluten Free pretzels

Smaller Serving Size โ€“ This recipe can be shrunk to make a smaller serving size. Just use a smaller amount of chocolate/almond bark.

Larger Group/More servings โ€“This recipe can easily be doubled for a larger group or party.

    Recipe Tips

This can be made with white chocolate melting chocolate/white candy melts.

For a shortcut, you can buy white yogurt covered pretzels. Use white frosting on the backs of the candy eyes to apply to those pretzels.

If your chocolate is not smooth enough or you need to thin it out you can add in a little bit of coconut oil to the mix to make it easier to dip.

Printable instructions below in the recipe card.
