Football season is in full swing right now and I am always looking for appetizers and snacks I can prepare on game day. These Crock Pot Lit'l Smokies are the perfect game day treat. They are SO easy to make, taste great, and did I mention they hardly take any time to get ready!

We love making Little Smokies Crock Pot Recipes! They are the perfect appetizer for super bowl parties, football parties, new years eve, holidays or really any day of the week

I wasn't sure what to call this recipe since it seems like Little Smokies are also called cocktail sausages or cocktail weenies, or lit's smokies, or lil smokies, or ....all the different names. What do you call these miniature smoked pork sausages?

ketchup, bourbon, onion, brown sugar, and beef lil smokies

    Ingredients neededย

    • Little Smokies
    • Ketchup
    • Bourbon - Your choice of brands, whichever is your favorite.
    • Brown sugar
    • Grated onion

    Equipment neededย

Cocktail Toothpicks or mini forks depending on how you want to serve these

Party Platter or you can serve them directly from the slow cooker.

    Recipe Tips

I ended up cooking ours a bit longer because John got held up at work. They turned out great. After the 3 hours, I did stir them to make sure that they were not sticking to the side and were all fully covered. The longer they stayed in the crockpot the more flavorful they were.

I'm not a liquor drinker. Can any whiskey be used in place of the bourbon? If not, is there a specific kind of bourbon you like to use?

These look absolutely amazing, and I just love my crock pot! It makes it so easy to keep your hot apps warm, and also to take hot food to potlucks and keep it warm. Thanks for this recipe!

I think that would work great. You would get the tang of the barbecue sauce and the tang of the ketchup. I love this!

Is there any reason you could not use bratwurst for the bourbon lil smokies receipe? Maybe browning them first? Thanks.
